My in-ground pool is old an in need of resurfacing, so, I am getting staining, but I have never had a spot of algae. I have been using the solar algae floater with the copper anodes for almost two summers and one winter now. I also do not need a lot of chlorine either.

I was spending $$$ on chemicals for my above ground pool. Since I have discovered this I haven’t bought any or have had to use any more chemicals. I’ve had the same copper rod in my solar powered ionizer since early April and it’s now August it looking like Its going to last through the next summer. Just need to be cleaned about every 5-7 days very simple

Every spring, I use to cringe when it was time to buy pool chemicals. I was spending hundreds of dollars for a season that only lasts 3-4 months in Wisconsin. Two years ago I the Remington Solar Chlorine-Free Shock unit for $99.99 and it came with 2 copper anodes. Each anode is suppose to last 6 months, that's two seasons for me. My pool has never been so clean and easy to maintain. As far as other chemicals...I might add a packet on non-chlorine powder shock every few weeks. That's it! I recommend this to anyone I know that has a pool.

These work great! Seriously, if you have a pool you need a copper ionizer. Remington makes the best one and these refills are perfect for it. Lasts about one year but keeps the water sparkling clean and clear without needing so much chlorine!

This is the second year that i used this solar shock i my pool and it was awesome! No green at all!

I was so hopeful that the Remington Solar system would work that I purchased the extra anode just to have when the time comes.

Best thing I have ever bought for our pool. I am talking of course about the whole piece of equipment not just the re-loadable copper rod. It works so good and has saved me a lot of worry and dollars.

I've been using this now in Texas for 3 years and I'm still surprised on how well it works. Assembly was easy and not sure why some have had difficulty centering the rod. Mine seemed to have centered itself once the screw was tightened. You need to be sure to clean off the rod and coil probably once every two weeks. Usually a strong stream of water will do the job. I've had to use the little brush on the coil maybe twice. One change in the description I would make... where it says "One anode will last up to two swimming seasons or more"... I disagree with that. For my 18,000 gal pool, I've used one rod per year. Maybe it has something to do with how much sun and heat we get in Texas. But overall, replacing the rod once a year is still far cheaper than how much chlorine shock I was using before using this product.

This device is the most amazing thing that I have seen in the over 15 years I have owned and maintained a pool. I have seen my chlorine usage cut way down, I don't have that chlorine smell coming out of the pool that we always had, and my pool is crystal clear. I have recommended it to a dozen friends. What a great invention!

It's a very good product ! But the climate in which I live is hot and humid and I have a large inground pool and some of the liner still has algae on it. Most of algae is gone.
