I really do not understand what the hype is about this tequila especially for the price, there is better tequila out there. You truly are paying for the aesthetics of this bottle. For a one time experience go ahead and try it but there's better tequila for better prices out there. 

This is a sipping tequila, not a tequila for shots. The bottle is beautiful and now, thanks to the kardashians, iconic. It is a very smooth and easy to drink tequila. Expensive, but you are meant to taste this and not shoot it back Don Julio 1942 1.750L GLS US Tequila

Great tequila. Super smooth taste. Has a good after tastes. Always a crowd pleaser. Would definitely recommend to those looking for a great strong yet delicious authentic tequila. Must try tequila. Very affordable and very fancy. Taste great alone and taste great in mixed drinks. 10/10 taste and appearance. Everyone always complements drinks made with this tequila and asks what tequila was used. Buy this if you are looking for a smooth tequila with great taste

The tequila itself is ok. Nothing I would rave about especially at its price point . The bottle and packaging is gorgeous but the tequila is not worth the 200 price tag. It does make a great margarita tho. However there is a Jose Cuervo traditional that tastes very similar at a fraction of the price.

Love love love 1942. Definitely my go to when asked what I would like to drink. I prefer it in shots with salt and lime, sometimes with a squeeze of Tabasco in it. It sounds weird, but trust me- so good! I love how smooth it is, makes it super easy to drink and enjoy it.

Hands down one of he best tequilas out there. The color is dark amber and the taste is so velvety smooth and sweet that if it didn’t say “Don Julio” on the bottle, you would likely never know it was even tequila. It is the definition of a true “sipping tequila,” as the flavors slowly develop with the ice ball, transitioning from pronounced oak, almost whiskey-like notes, and then into raisin and vanilla with only a faint trace of smoke and earth. It was pretty surprising that the typical astringent "pepper and agave" that usually comes from blue agave is almost completely absent; making this one of the smoothest tequilas we have ever had the pleasure of enjoying.

I MEAN!!!! If you haven’t already tried this you definitely should. It’s the best of the best in tequila. The bottle and packing is very nice and elegant and let’s not mention the flavor of this tequila, it definitely goes down VERY smoothly and although it is a bit on the expensive size the price is worth every single penny.
