I've had the Defender series on several different vehicles. Best performing road tire I've ever had. Wet, slick, icy and light snow, the traction, stopping power and cornering is the best. I'd love to have some narley looking AT tires on my 4runner for looks but I'll never change from the Defenders, I feel safe with them on my vehicle.

This set of tires is on a Ford Explorer. They are wearing exceptionally well, and are quiet on the road. Based on the tread depth left, I should get approximately 90,000 miles on this set. I have Michelin Tires on all of my vehicles and would not use any other brand of tires. I have been buying Michelin tires for over 25 years, and I have never been dissatisfied.

Bought a set of Defender LTX M/S tires about 6 months ago. When I first drove with them I noticed that they were very noisy. Had them rotated and balanced at 6000 miles. I discussed the noise problem with the dealer and he had a technician drive my vehicle after the tires were rotated. The technician said the tires sounded quiet to him. I had him ride with me and he said he could hear the tire noise but considered them to be quiet, "quieter than most". I have never had tires this noisy. I would not recommend these tires if you want a quiet ride.

As a building contractor I drive a full sized 4 wheel drive truck, GMC Sierra and pull a dump trailer and my boat occasionally. I got more than 61,000 miles out of this set even though it runs on hot Florida roads, I tend to drive a little fast and stop a little harder than perhaps I should and my truck is rarely empty.

I have had several sets of these tires over 15 yrs of towing my boat following the Salmon runs of 2 Greatlakes. As the years gone by the boats have gotten bigger requiring heavier pickups to pull them. My current boat is 14,000 LBS and pull it with a single wheel GMC 3500 HD Diesel. I fish alot and towed alot, these tires are rock solid for the serious towing vehicle that tows more than a few miles to the ramp. They're not All-Terrain tires, All Terrains couldn't hold up to the heat and abuse these things are subjected to in my application. If you're looking for a long lasting heavy duty no worries tire for your investment this is it. If not get a set of nobby All -Terrains for the sound.

My first set of tires which came with my 2006 Honda Ridgeline gave me 93000 miles and I know I could easily have gotten another 5000 miles out of them.I replaced them with the same tires which now have over 25000 miles and are showing no wear at all.I rotate my tires every 10000 miles.Thank you Michelin for a great product. Have you had tires that did not last? Have you paid for tires that did not perform? Have you heard from a salesperson that told you how great a tire was and find out that the quality was below standard. Forturnate I experiance all of these early in life and fortuantely I bought my first Michelin tire also early in my life. I have bought only Michelin tires since I was 21 and I am 64 now. With the proper care (inflation, rotation, etc.) these tires on the average have lasted longer than the advertised rating and their tread life has been execeptional. Quality control is also outstanding as I have never had to return a tire for any type of blemish or related problem which is very important from a safety point of view. I am a long time owner of these tires as well as all of my familty who continue to rack up the miles and who contiue to experice the same satifaction and trust with the Michelin brand.

In my honest opinion, there is NO better tire for SUVs operating in northern climates than the Michelin LTX M/S. They provide a quiet, comfortable ride, with great handling and uncompromised wet traction. They are the only tires that I have found that will climb my steep driveway, when it's covered in packed snow. They even helped my RWD van get up the drive!

From the first drive these tires have been very quiet and absorbing the tar strips and bumps in the road. Looking forward to how they perform in the snow. Ratings ask about taks that have not been tested yet, such as safety. I haven't had to do a panic stop or heavy rain.

On my last set of MS tires I did have one tire that seemed to growl when it was on the right front where I guess I could hear it better. Thinking the noice was a wheel bearing, I had asked the service technician to check the bearing but he said it was the tire.
