This is a beautiful machine. That was until I opened the box and checked for flaws due to some of the reviews I’ve read. The chrome plated fry basket is bad. There was peeling and showing rust brand new. I’m going to have to wait until Ninja fixes the design flaws before reconsidering. The placement for the air fryer basket is way too close to the upper heating element. I can see this being a problem when it comes to frying anything without making a huge mess. It will eventually cause smoke from burning oil. Also, the machine doesn’t give you much o room to pull out the tray after frying and will cause serious burns if you’re not overly cautious while using it. Not good for kids.

It makes good food, it is small so it saves you time on heating up a big oven. The low point of this product is cleaning. Be aware: - the black tray is a magneto for residuals... absolutely everything sticks to it - the mesh tray is also very cumbersome to clean. Best way I found is to soak it in hot water for about then minutes and spend some elbow grease to have it all clean - the internal parts all get stained and sticky and they are not all accessible - the tilt capability is useful but be aware that grease trapped in the fan compartiment, that is inaccesible to clean, will drip on your counter when you tilt the oven After using to fry a tray of chicken thighs I need to spend at least half an hour cleaning everything. So I sort of gave up on using it to roast or fry and have been using just as a toaster oven, still.... the cheese melts down and makes a sticky mess everywhere. This oven should be self cleaning, have to teflon on and it should have a filter system for the smoke., the whole house stinks when I use this for frying or roasting. I regret buying it, will sell this on marketplace and buy perhaps a countertop self cleaning convection oven with a smoke filtering system.

Definitely a pain in the butt to use! Basket can only be used on one position in the oven too. I’m not saving much counter space since it’s has a larger footprint when it’s down and in use; not to mention the cooling time before you can fold it out of the way! Bottom line, it’s going back.

I’ve had a few other ninja products and they have always been top notch. We live in a small camper without an oven so we thought the two and one combination of oven and air fryer would be perfect. Cooked up some fairly lean chicken wings and put the drip tray underneath the basket. About halfway through the second batch and fumbling with pulling all three items out at the same time to continue to flip and rotate the wings for an even cooking it started to smoke up the entire place. My wife helped me get the drip tray out and we cleaned it as much as possible but it did not help. Very awkward to use. My opinion, it’s a convection toaster oven and not an air fryer. Just too difficult and dangerous to rotate items when you’re cooking. Also the outside gets extremely hot.

Very convenient little oven. It is very versatile and cooks well.
