I’ve purchased these bananas on two other occasions and every single time they’ve been extremely green and non-ripe for WEEKS. I tried letting them sit, putting them in brown paper bags, and putting them in bags with other fruit and nothing seems to help them ripen. I ended up just throwing them away because I can’t even get the peel off because they’re so hard. I thought it was just a bad bunch the first few times but after 3 tries I will not be buying these anymore.

They were just ripe enough upon arrival to use immediately. No bruises. Didn't begin turning for days. Nice touch with the plastic around the stems. That prevents the gases from escaping, that speeds up rotting; so I didn't have to do it myself. Used them in overnight rolled oats, along with Grape Nuts cereal, Greek yogurt, raisins, and sometimes honey.

They are brown! The bunch is small (5 very ripe bananas) and I am extremely disappointed! My shoppers usually do much better than this and I usually get a better bunch than I just received. This bunch is not worth the cost and will be completely useless by tomorrow.

The bananas were fine but the bunch was too big and each one was too big. It’s nice that HEB gives us an option to leave a note for the shopper. I ask them for a small bunch of small and the greenest bananas. Then you hope for the best of course! Ha!

I had been buying regular bananas and always happy with them. Recently I read that if a person wants to stay healthy, of all the fruits available, bananas are tithe ones that should be purchased as organic. So, I started spending the extra money for the organic ones, but almost every bunch has come bruised badly. Everything else in the order seems to be ok, so I tend not to blame the shopper, but indeed, the bananas

I wish we had the option to buy non-organic bananas because these are not great. They are almost always green and they keep the green flavor even after they're supposed to be ripe. They also have a lot of bruises. I really hate that piece of plastic they wrap around the stem to keep the bananas from ripening faster. The first thing I do is remove that plastic but I wonder if that's the cause of the bananas taking such a long time to ripen and why they hold onto that green flavor? I just wish I could order plain old regular bananas that aren't organic and don't have plastic on the stem. Old fashioned bananas that have a sweet wonderful banana flavor like I grew up eating. These are not very sweet, they're bland and hard. They're also difficult to open. Most times I have to cut them open with a knife. It's a banana I don't want to have to use a knife to peel them. The skins are often gross, with brown stuff stuck to the skin. I have no idea what that brown stuff is but sometimes it's so thick and nasty that banana goes right in a plastic bag then into the trash. I still buy these because it's my only option but if Walmart gave me the option to buy non-organic bananas I would buy those instead.

That’s a lovely bunch of bananas in your picture. Mine came looking like they’d been to war. One is definitely beyond overripe; they didn’t have the protective tape over the stems—the tape blocks the escape of ethylene gas, the same gas that when released from the bananas into the air, causes them to ripen.

I prefer bananas with zero brown on the peel. If I get a bunch of bananas, I may only eat one banana per day. And I won’t eat them if they are showing any brown spots. I just don’t care for them once they are too ripe. A bunch of 4 green bananas is perfect!

I don't know why any grocery pickup shopper would think someone would want 7 rotten bruised brown bananas that smell like alcohol, but apparently our store's employees think that's the way we like 'em. It's almost like they dug them outta the dumpster.

I actually buy bananas at Sam's quite often because of the cost. They don't have the flavor like the grocery store bananas, butt they are okay. The last bunch I purchased were green. I let them sit for three days, but they never ripened. After a couple minutes trying to peel one, I got enough exposed to try a bite, it was like biting into a tree branch. I had to throw them away.
