I just received my Generac GP8000E portable generator a couple of days ago. I bought it for the sole purpose of having back-up power in case of a power outage. I asked our electricians at work which generator they would recommend and they both said this one at the same time. That tells me a lot. We have a Generac stand alone at work that powers our whole office and I feel that if they both recommended this model and brand, then it must be the one I'll be happy with. I'm almost hoping the power goes off this winter..... lol

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I turned off the power in my home to test this generator out. Needless to say, I'm very impressed. It took quite a bit of gas to fill up, but it didn't burn through it at all. I let it run for an hour and I couldn't tell that any gas was used. I live in a three bedroom trailer. This generator let off enough power to keep my central air running and my refrigerator going as well. Assembly was extremely easy and laid out very well to understand. The portable feature is amazing as well. Overall, I'm extremely satisfied.

I have not used product yet. I bought it as a replacement for a 3500 wen , which did a good job. After comparing it with other products of the same size and price range I decided on the Generac . The good reviews and recommendations are another reason for my purchase.

There's nothing I can say that would even come close to doing this machine justice , bought another generator from a competitor , biggest mistake I could have made. The features, durability and quality is second to none , highly recommended this to anyone over any other brand .

Bought this generator during a storm where half our province was out of power for over a week. I utilize it as a whole home backup generator, it has enough power to run my well pump and sump pump as well as heating my water when I need it to. it starts right up without hesitation and runs smoothly. The frame and wheels are very rugged to carry it around since it is on the heavy side. the only down fall that I found with it was that it is quite noisy so I will be building an insulated cover for it. Extremely satisfied, never looked back.

This product was a life saver for me and my family after surviving Hurricane Michael. It's loud but it does it job and does it well. We were able to keep our house running for day without power. It runs about 10hrs on a tank of gas and it had enough power to run our whole home. Then after our power was restored it was used to help others until theirs was restored. This generator was a great investment, don't be like my family and wait until you absolutely need it, buy one now and be prepared for anything!

Bought this generator because of power outage. This is my 2nd GP 6500. Easy assembly except the store did not include the wheels. Started on very 1st pull and ran flawlessly. Noise level is acceptable. I cannot say enough about this generator. It easily handles my whole house. I had many neighbors come over asking about it and I'm sure that some of them are going to or did buy an identical. unit. It is nice to get your moneys worth.

After the several months of Severe Mid -West weather and constant power outages! We up graded our generator to the GP6500. It was very easy to set up as well as to use! The features that is nice to have on this unit were the large 7 1/2 gal gas tank, easy to pull start and power to supply my entire house!! This unit is not only great for home back up power but we also took it on our hunting trip and made the trip just a little more like home!

We purchased this unit because a 10,000 watt was not available where we bought this one. It certainly has the power to supply our furnace, A/C and other objects such as lights, microwave, toaster oven, electric water heater for coffee/tea, coffee maker, etc, etc. I do not recommend operating a tv under generator power. The unit always starts with very little lag time. The fuel tank is large enough to run the unit under normal conditions (11 degrees) for 10 hours. I strongly recommend this unit to anyone.
