GP7500E So Far So Good

Nice unit easy to set up fired right up gave it a quick check up and so far so good. I Purchased this unit as a precaution mainly to have the ability to keep the essentials functional during prolonged outages (our area is prone). At this point I am waiting for my electrician to obtain the necessary parts to complete a proper safe and legal hook up. I hope to say farewell to frozen pipes, stubbed toes, and spoiled food.

Great product

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm not sure why but our area is known for frequent power outages. This generator has helped during those times. It was easy to set up and use. Started within the first few pulls. Would definitely purchase again.

Delivers as you would expect it to

Bought this generator during a storm where half our province was out of power for over a week. I utilize it as a whole home backup generator, it has enough power to run my well pump and sump pump as well as heating my water when I need it to. it starts right up without hesitation and runs smoothly. The frame and wheels are very rugged to carry it around since it is on the heavy side. the only down fall that I found with it was that it is quite noisy so I will be building an insulated cover for it. Extremely satisfied, never looked back.

Good value for a high quality product

This unit has everything I need for home backup. It's a heavy machine but the pivot handle makes it easy to move around. I also like the never flat wheels. The only drawback is the lack of clear instructions for changing oil and draining fuel. The instructions are vague for a novice like me. I need more detail and better drawings. Well worth the price I paid for home backup.

Easy to assemble

As I have not needed to use it yet , all I can say is it was easy to assemble and started up with the first pull . Love the big gas tank and the wattage will be sufficient to cover most everything needed in an outage . Will be installing an interlock kit . Will have running water but probably no hot water , washer , dryer or stove to cook on .

Life saver during power outage

We was dealing with a major power outage, after looking at several other brands, I went with this brand and size, because everything I have heard, I trusted it. This unit was perfect, it provided power for my side by side fridge, and two upright freezers with plenty to spare. While others were sitting in the dark, we was sitting in a well lit living room eating supper. Love my new Generac generator.

great generator

Great generator for the price! easy set up. It also will be easy to maintain.Easy to start. just to see what i could run with it i put it through its paces. I ran 5 lights, 2 fans, 3 electric heaters, well pump, refrigerator, freezer, heat lamp, garage door opener. it ran all of it without any problem. I was bold enough to run all the above and turn on the hot water tank. now thats when the generator knew it had a load on it for sure. overall great product! its all i need if the power goes out. its even wife friendly.

Very good product - easy to setup and use

I compared several different generators and chose a GP6500E - which I am very happy with! The intial setup took under 30 minutes, and it started right up. The durability and ease of use seem very good, and the electric start option was well worth the money. I would highly recommend this product.

Worried about buying a remanufactured generator.

I purchased this generator in late June after a bad storm and I lost power for almost a week. Vowing, that that would never happen again. Tyler tools had a remanufactured GP15000E on sell for under $2000.00 (great price), so I bought it. Had the house wired up, so I could run anything I wanted as long as I stayed under 50 amps. Did a test run under load and it was working great, I was very happy with the performance for about 7 minutes. Then, ka-pow, generator stopped. I tried starting it several times; it wouldn't even turn over, dead as a doornail. I took the generator to my local dealer (Precision Small Engines, Inc.), they told me the engine control module was fried and a new one would have to be ordered. It now runs, I have not retested it under load. I'm worried about a failure when I need it most. The other problem is the wheel kit. Not everyone has a garage and those that don't have to store it in the basement or tool shed, for me it was the basement. The wheel kit measured 31.5 inches wide and the door has an opening of 29 inches. I had to make other arrangements for storage. Only time will tell if this was a good purchase.

Great generator but...

I like this unit a lot. It powers my entire house and I have frequent power outages. My only gripe is the handle and wheels. The rubber hand holds slide right off and there is only one pin to.secure the folding handle which feels kind of cheap. It's hard to roll this across an uneven surface. Maybe it was only intended for city people.to roll on cement.in the garage. Trying to get it from the shed to the house across an uneven yard kind of sucks. Guess I'll have to either build it its own house or get it a tougher cart to mount it in
