I bought the Generac GP6500E because of an extended power outage last Christmas. We recently had a Fall snow storm and were out of power for 4 days. The generator performed very well during the outage. Started on 1st or second pull every time. Provided all the power I needed to run the well, furnace, lights, TV, satellite dish, Fridge and freezer. It would run longer than the 10 hours the specs say at half load. Only issue is that it is a little bulky to move around if you are not on pavement. It is a good sized machine so it sinks in a bit on grass, especially if it is wet. The wheels are good sized and the frame is sturdy but it is heavy enough to make it a little difficult on grass, sand. The wheels also pack up with snow and stop rolling so you need to keep the path clear to the ground or clear the wheels frequently. Other than that it has been a good machine.

This thing is a beast. I connected to a manual transfer switch with current monitors to watch and balance the connected load. I have run a few tests but haven't had a true outage yet to put it to the test. V-twin 992cc engine runs great and starts easily with the electric start. I did connect a battery tender to trickle charge/monitor the battery. Other than that it comes with everything including a spare tune up kit.

I am very satisfied with my purchase of my GP6500E generator. It was money well invested. The quality and performance of this Generac generator is great. The installation and startup directions were very easy to follow for someone like me that is not to keen on the mechanics of putting something together. The motor is not too noisy at all, we can barely hear that our generator is on at all when working. I will definitely recommend this product to all my family. I am getting ready to purchase a Generac Home Standby Generator in the next few months.

we recently bought 8 of these generators, they seam to be well built and do what they need to do. BUT, BEWARE of the Handle!! when handling the generator, the handle swung up and pinched the tips of 2 fingers off. After that we saw that the handle could be pinned in the up or down position.

I love my new Generac generator. It is exactly what I wanted and my wife bought it for me for Christmas. Great features and great performance. I considered other products, but none had all that I was looking for except the 17500E. So I wasn't going to settle for almost .... bought the best and got everything I wanted !!

I purchased this during a snowstorm that knocked out our power for a couple of days. We have a newborn and therefore a lot of breastmilk in our freezer that we needed to keep frozen. This was EXTREMELY easy to start and run and then hook up not just the freezer, but also our fridge. It ran for the stated 11+ hours with an upright fridge and freezer and saved everything we needed. The power this specific model provides is more than enough for us and I will hook it up to our furnace down the road if it happens again as well as electrical. In a residential area, it is a little loud, but I presume with snow and nothing else on or running around the neighborhood, it was only maximized because of the circumstances. I will certainly take this with us camping or tailgating down the road as well.

I originally purchased the GP5500 unit, but traded it in for this GP7500E. The electric start is prefect. I set up the unit in no time and I had my wife come down to start it for the first time. She simply pushed the start button and it fired up. It actually runs quieter than other generators in the neighborhood. I would derfinitely recommend this unit to anyone, and I have. You can't beat the features for the price.

After a 3 day outage this summer, I upgraded from a 5000 watt generator to the 6500 watt Generac and installed a larger transfer switch so I could power more items during our frequent power outages. The machine is obviously well built. It has a small footprint and it's easy to move and started on the first pull. Based on other reviews I thought it might be a little noisy. But it actually seems quieter than my old one.

Having an urgent need after a storm for replacing my generator ( that refused to start ), i went looking for a new one. The store had plenty of "off brands" or generic brands i was not comfortable with. I found a GP series 6500 tucked away under the rack. Knowing that Generac has made a reputation for home backup systems, i was willing to chance that they did some thinking before they put their portable generator to market. I liked the setup for the most part and it fired up with one pull (to my relief ). The Documentation was clear , giving plug requirements and a wonderful wiring diagram (thank you). Some things they could improve on is the adding of a Fuel Drain Valve, theft prevention security mounts, and supplying a cover with the unit.

Purchased the gp6500e in case of power outages from hurricane Irma. Works exactly how you would expect. Instructions could be better but common sense goes a long way. The single quart of oil brings the unit just past the low mark on level ground, good thing I had backup oil on hand. Battery came with enough charge to start it right out of the box. Has been running constantly with no hiccups. 9/10 Would buy again!
