The description of this Item was "Zinus Night Therapy 12" Green Tea Zest w/Smartbase Set, Size: King" However, no Smartbase was received and thus this item was not a "Set". That was a disappointment. However, the actual Zinus mattress has proven to be a complete delight and surprise. It came packaged, as all memory foam mattresses, tightly compressed and rolled inside a large box. It was left in the box for about 5 days before being unrolled and although the packaging indicated that it would take 24-48 hours to reach its full thickness, it probably reached 11 1/2" within a few hours. Now, after a few weeks, it has reached its full 12" height on all areas of the mattress except a slight dip in two corners that isn't really a concern. The mattress is surprisingly firm and I love it for that reason. Some people who prefer a softer sleep surface may find the mattress too firm. This mattress replaces a pillow-top mattress that, after only about 3 years was dipping on each side. I'm hopeful this Zinus mattress holds its firmness and shape over time!

Finally able to get rid of our old Pillow top and so glad we could- this mattress is firm so we don’t sink in but also comfortable enough that I don’t feel pain especially at my hips and shoulders. It is a great quality that looks like it will hold up well especially as my husband and I are toss and turners. Also love the green tea infusion upon opening like other times we opened memory foam mattresses - we did not feel assaulted by smell after opening to air out - it was very pleasant and not strong at all. Would buy this mattress for our other rooms hands down

This Zinus 12 inch mattress topper is a great very comfortable, soft but firm at the same time. We put it in our den for extra bed for our guess specially last Thanksgiving week and this coming holiday season.I can’t believe that this just a topper. It could really be a real mattress. Same me money to tell you the truth. Highly recommend product

Great mattress. I got this for my 10 year old and he loved it. Much cheaper than many of the more expensive memory foam mattresses, but feels just as good. I have slept in it a night or two and I like it almost as much as my many times more expensive brand name memory foam mattress

The mattress was dumped , in the box, on my porch unannounced. The mattress had to be pried open, did not unroll and instantly expand. After a week plus it has expanded to 8-10 inches thick, not 12 and the corners are still deformed. I emailed Zinus who promptly referred me to Sam's Club online who quickly refunded my purchase. I upgraded to a Zinus 14 inch mattress, still waiting for it to be delivered.

Surprisingly comfortable! We have name brand T. Beds for our kids but I could easily sub it out with this and they’d be great! I like a very firm bed so this wouldn’t work for Hubby & I. But it would definitely work for all our kids and the guest bedroom! Not sure the longevity yet but off the bat it’s comfortable & when you lay down it’s firm for a sec then you sink in a tad. Helps my kids stay in place a bit more when sleeping lol than rolling absolutely everywhere.

This bed is very firm, unfortunately it doesn’t give the firmness in any of the descriptions. We don’t mind a firm bed but this was much firmer than we could handle. We ended up having to add a mattress topper to be able to sleep on it. To be fair, this bed is great - a great price for what it is - and maybe it would be softer after extended use or in a different climate (we live in cold Wyoming). We did appreciate that it does not sleep hot and that you do not disturb your partner with movement. If it was softer, I would rate it 5 stars.

This arrived in smaller packaging than I was expecting but expanded to full once opened. I wasn't sure how I would like the memory foam after using a pillow top for a few years but I was amazed at how well I slept. I use a water pillow which causes indents on my pillow top but I didn't have any of that on this mattress. Very comfortable and sturdy.

I was very anxious/nervous to try this bed. I have never had a full memory foam mattress(bed in a box). We ordered King size, which we've never had before(best idea ever), as we always have littles sleeping with us. Assembly of the smart base was quite easy. The directions were straightforward. The opening of the mattress was a bit chaotic, but I think that also has to do with the size and me being tiny trying to do it alone. I did not notice a scent from the mattress, which they said may be a problem for people. Once opened, the matress fluffed up with no issues. It fits completely on the smart base. The smartbase gives about a foot high of storage space beneath it, my kids have been using it as their hideout/tunnel. We love the amount of space we have. The memory foam does cradle you quite nicely. I prefer a firmer bed and my husband prefers softer. This mattress is satisfactory for both of our needs. We haven't noticed the "cooling effect" as much. I do believe that is because our previous bed had a cooling layer, so this mattress it isn't as prominent. For the price and what you actually recieve, this is a great set. Which I do believe will hold up quite well. Excited to continue using this bed set.

I really have to say I truly love the smartbase that came with this mattress it is so lightweight that I by myself was able to unpack it, put it together and take it upstairs all by myself, and this was the king size! The smart bass has these clips that click when the legs lock out and in order to get them to go back down you have to press the button on it so you know it's locked when you're using it. I have had bases similar to this before that were so heavy, and even though the king comes in two pieces, I had to have help moving it. It also breaks down and stores super flat which is so nice if you have to move furniture to paint or you have to move. It does not take up a lot of room stored. I was surprised at how small the box was that it came in when I put it together. The height of the base is 14 inches. The green tea mattress I have to say did not have a lot of offgassing like some of the other mattresses that are similar that I have purchased before from other brands. It comes with directions that tell you it needs to be opened as soon as you get it and let it rest for about 72 hours which I did, it did have a slight odor but that's to be expected for anything that's been wrapped in plastic and that is a memory foam mattress but it was definitely not bad. I could be in the room with it and be in the house without it bothering me. The smell that it did have disputed so fast I was actually really impressed with that. After getting everything set up and sleeping on it for about two weeks I noticed that my back did not hurt as much as it normally does. The mattress is probably more of a medium stiffness not overly soft and not as hard as a medium firm mattress like my previous one was. it does hug you a little bit when you are sleeping so you don't feel a lot of movement from anybody else it's in the bed. The one thing though I did notice that after having it set up for a long time and sleeping on it is that the 12 inch mattress actually measures out to be more of around 11 inches good thing to know for purchasing sheets so you do have a little bit more options in sheets than a normal 12 inch mattress.
