Surprise feature not welcome

Bought these to replace same size tires from a 2nd string manufacturer. OEM tires had NOT been rotated and were SHOT at 35000 miles. Kumhos lasted nearly 40,000, were rotated regularly and would have gone longer except the tread was right at the wear bars and the rainy season was a month away. Now? to find out, the Michelin tire, which was supposed to be a 'premium' tire came with 8.5 32s of tread depth. Not 11/32 or even 10/32. 8.5 At a recent oil change the dealer informed me I had 7/32s remaining. Quite a shock considering I haven't even had the FIRST rotation yet. That's almost 30% of the useful tread in <5000 miles. Recommending such a High Dollar tire would be difficult for me. I rather doubt, based on first tread depth measure that this tire will last any better than the Other Guy which was 5/8 the price. I got better wear out of the Michelin tires on my S2000 which I Expected to go quickly given dedicated front / rear sizing and the nature of the beast.

WORST TIRE I'VE EVER OWNED - TERRIBLE ON ICE AND SNOW

These tires came on my wife's Jeep Grand Cherokee. With the pandemic and working from home, I can't speak to the tire life. I will state that they are quiet and grip well on drive pavement. They are okay on wet pavement. And, unfortunately, they are TERRIBLE in snow and icy conditions. I bought winter tires for her Jeep. Night and day difference when driving in winter. I don't recommend them.

MATT, Thanks for taking the time to submit a review. We are sorry to hear that you are unhappy with the Premier LTX in snow and icy conditions, however all-season tires do have limitations when driving in winter conditions, and winter tires are necessary.

Less Than 1/3 of Mileage Warranty

I've been a loyal Michelin tire customer, for many years for both my wife's SUV and my cars too. Nevertheless, I'm disappointed with Premier LTX's 100,000km/6 years mileage warranty. Even though, these 235/55R19 tires for my 2011 Lexus RX 350 were properly inflated, well maintained and promptly rotated at regular intervals of 10,000kms; I have to replace them after 28,700km which is only less than 29% of the mileage warranty. Although they offer quiet ride and good traction even on snowy road, I expected excellence from Michelin. I'm a responsible mild mannered middle aged driver who does not spin the wheels with jerky start or sudden acceleration, nor do I take sharp corners at high speed. Therefore, there's no sign of uneven wear on these tires and the tire pressure is regulated by Lexus' sensitive electronic tire pressure sensors, as well.

Terrible tread life

These were OEM on my Jeep Grand Cherokee. With easy driving the tires needed replacing at 18,000 miles. In the last 40 years I have never had tires wear out this fast! The tires have UTQG treadwear rating of 620 and I should have got at least 40,000 on these tires. Something isn't right with the UTQG rating on this tire as these tires wore more like a UTQG rating of 300. This is unfortunate as the other characteristics of the tire is very good.

Does not live up to the Michelin brand reputation.

I've only driven this set of tires for 20K highway miles and the tread is already down to 4/32. While wet and dry traction, stopping and noise level is very good, the treads and the materials are definitely not what I expected from Michelin. I have trusted Michelin tires in the past but now I'm not so sure. Perhaps cost cutting affecting quality?

Disapointed

My wife recently had a service performed at the dealer on our 2018 Audi Q5. They mentioned that the tires were worn to the wear indicators. They don't come with a deep tread when new, but we only have 30k miles on them with a supposed 60k mile warranty!? Had great luck with Michelin tires in the past and these performed well when new. Now they have no side grip whatsoever in even the lightest snow. We also rotate every 5k and are very easy drivers. Came across the below reviews with same views as mine, while searching for different replacement tires. Very disappointed in treadwear.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention, Kriegs. We would recommend getting a tire inspection at an authorized dealer. Please have the dealer contact us at 866-866-6605 to report their findings.

Started great. Poor tread life

Bought 4 of these for a 2013 Buick Enclave in December of 2016 and they were very good for that first winter. They were still good for the second winter. After that, they were only ok. Last two winters they have been less than ok. It's currently December of 2021. The tread depth is currently at 2/32 on two tires and 3-4/32 on the other two. There's less than 30,000 miles on these tires. The wear indicators are nearly even with the treads. They now have issues gripping when the roads are wet, almost as if the tires have hardened and are dried. They do have a lot of cracks, so maybe the tires are worn out. I have Michelin Premier A/S on a 2014 Cruze LT, that I bought in December of 2014, and they are still just fine. Those have 36,000 miles on them. Those tires are the reason I went with these. Maybe I should have gotten the Defender ones instead for the Enclave.

Poor wear life

Bought these tires in august 2017 and with only 40,000 miles they are needing replacement on a 2007 Honda CR-V. I obtained 78,000 miles on the previous Michelin Energy Savers to show that I am not tough on tires. I expect much better from Michelin and have been a fan for a number of years but these disappointed me.

Replaced after only 17,000 miles

Initially loved these tires. Quiet and comfortable ride. I was surprised when my dealer recommended replacement during routine oil change. Had a cut in one of the tires so knew I had to replace that one. I know it is best to replace tires as a set. my tire dealer also said the tires are worn and replacing just one would make a noticeable difference. So I replaced all four tires. Here is the problem...they had only 17,000 miles on them. I drive only 5 miles round trip to work each day and put less than 10,000 miles on my vehicle per year. I consider myself a normal driver so imagine my disappointment having to replace a $800+ set of Michelins after only 17,000 miles. The tire dealer spoke of how soft the rubber was on this particular tire. I don't know how they could possibly last 60,000 miles. I have owned Michelins before and were happy with them. I will likely step away from Michelin as any company who would mis-state the durability of a product to this degree makes me nervous to use any of their products.

Good Tire - Poor tread Life

After researching tires and reading reviews, my wife and I settled on the Premier AS tire for our a Honda Pilot. The reviews of the tire were overall positive with ride and tread life being mentioned in a positive light. After owning the tires for 2 and a half years, the treads are down to 4 and 5 thirty seconds on all the tires. We have liked the tire in regards to traction and ride but 49,000 kilometres is unacceptable for wear on an renowned tire brand especially as almost 100 percent is pavement driving. I see from all the reviews, that we are not alone in our dissatisfaction of the Premier AS wear of the tire. It is unfortunate as all other facets of the tire are excellent, and hopefully Michelin will do something to rectify the situation in my case and make alterations to the compound in the future as this is not unique to just myself.
