Hello Ed, I'm sorry your light is not working. Please exchange it at the store or email me at customerservice@idctexas.com and let me know the issue. To activate the five-year warranty and provide a replacement, I'll need a photo or screen shot of your receipt, along with your shipping address. **Regarding the heat you feel on the one end, that is where the heat sink is located, which dissipates the heat coming from the LEDs. LEDs do not make much heat, however, at the higher lumens there is a level of heat that must be diverted out and away from the light. This is natural and should not be a problem.
