Plant lights are expensive and most are an ugly pinkish or blurple color, which serves its purpose if choosing the most efficient light for growing food. As I researched lights I began to find an overlap between daylight LED shop lights and full spectrum LED plant lights. I started bringing in plants for the winter and began with 3 of these Honeywell LED shop lights that I'm using to supplement light from my windows in a room that plants have not done well in for me. Things are going GREAT so far. Based on my light meter readings, PAR for this light is 414 PPFS at 3”, 305 at 6”, 246 at 9”, and 198 at 12” (with no window supplemental light, just the fixture). 12 hour DLI is 5.0, and my understanding is that is the minimum requirement for lettuce, so if you're growing food you might want to increase light time to 14 hours or so. That said, I think it's perfectly feasible to use a blurple grow light to start seeds and to transition them to shelves outfitted with these great inexpensive shop lights. Keep in mind that all light readings are for directly under the fixture at the distances specified. For each shelf you would need rows of lights side by side to adequately provide light as needed. The great thing is, these lights daisy chain (up to 10 lights) and can easily be mounted to various wire or metal utilitarian shelving systems. I don't ask much of lights, I like when they turn on and I like that they provide light. Two of the lights I received sections of some of the LEDs (a row of 14 leds) have already went out. While the rest of them seem to keep working I don't have faith that these are going to last long.

We bought 28 of these for our shop and the light output is fantastic. On the downside in less than 2 years we have had to replace 3 units because they began flickering. I had hoped for a longer life. I hope the rest do not start the same thing. Not sure how to apply the 5 year warranty on these either

Got four of these to hang in a workshop to replace hard-wired florescent lights. Fairly easy to hang, although definitely recommend drilling pilot hoes as one hook snapped right off trying to twist it into wood beam. Got everything linked up, turned the first light off thinking the other three would switch off as well. Big fat NO! What is the point of linking lights if when you enter the space you have to turn each light on individually?! The pull chain is less than 10 inches long, so unless you extend each pull chain when hanging from a ceiling, or happen to be 6 feet 5 inches plus, you'd need a ladder to reach the on/off. Really annoyed I spent so long installing these only to have to remove and return. Very disappointed - would not recommend at all.

I bought five of these lights, had less than a year and only turn them on when I go into the garage. Put very little time on them and have had them fail in the same way as others, simply do not turn on after a couple of months and once in a while flicker and work and then turn off. Tried to contact customer service since they have a 5 year warranty, did not pick up, emailed customer service and no response. Said they are trying to respond as soon as they can but that was 2 months ago……Wouldn't recommend. The price was right, the illumination was great and the company generally has a good quality behind its name but these do not reflect quality.

Took down 2- Fluoresent 4 foot lights and added 3-of these led to my garage where we park our suv. Boy what a bright place now. I like them so good, I purchased 3-more and added to my workshop. I also use one for raising my tomato & pepper seedlings, great bright light for your plants
