Very handy!

Tried the pole saw for the first time a few days ago. It cuts through the limbs like they were butter. Just have to lay the blade on the limb and press the trigger. It is a little too heavy for me when fully extended, but no problem for my husband. He loves it. We trimmed a lot of dead limbs and other things which would have required a ladder if using a regular saw. I can use it when not fully extended and still reach limbs that would otherwise be out of reach. Can't wait do trimming! BTW - I am 73.

Not So Great

I bough this to cut small branches here and there and trim things up around the house. I spend more time putting the chain back on than actually cutting anything. I have worked with chainsaws for many years and know the chain is installed correctly. To cut a 1 inch branch it took maybe 2-3 times of putting the chain back on. So it is a great chainsaw if you want to take forever on reinstalling the chain than actually cutting.

Why did I wait so long...

Bought this today and put it to use trimming out the bottom of a "weeping" slippery elm tree that had gotten way out of hand in the front yard. Beautiful tree, but a lot of maintenance that I had been putting off. I think my job was about the maximum you would want to do using this saw, lots of 3 inch limbs about 6-12 feet off the ground. For some of the limbs the extension was actually too long. The only things you need to be careful about are checking the chain tension about every 10 minutes, I dropped the chain once, and keeping it full of oil. The directions said to use the bulb to oil the chain, but mine has no bulb. It must be self-oiling because after you've had it running for an hour or so, its an oily little beast. You may also need a small funnel, as the oil opening isn't that big and the oil comes by the quart. Overall, I used it pretty hard for about 3 hours and it used about half a quart of oil. Once all the limbs were down, the real the work began. We've had a lot of rain lately and the tree was pretty wet. This saw worked better than the guys at the store said it would and it has a 3-yr warranty. Perfect saw for home-owner use.

Very well made and rugged pole chain saw

I had oak tree branches over hanging my house's roof. I was using a manual pole saw before but the branches would snag the blade. The chain saw lets me take down bigger branches with much less effort and very fast. The auto lube feature is great and the unit is 99% pre-assembled. This will save me from a lot of back pain from using the manual saw.

Pleasantly Surprised!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Used it to take down small tree in my court yard. Other than being a little top heavy the saw performed well above my expectations. Saw had plenty of power and was able to remove whole tree and the chain remained sharp. I wouldn't recommend trying what I did but for the occasional limb removal it would be great. I also have the blower and vacuum that works great. Highly recommend Worx tools

The saw does the job

Cuts well but not sure about the oil reservoir. Manual indicates oil only lasts 12 minutes. After 2 hours of nearly continuous use over a two day period the oil level is still in the correct range. We added oil to ensure it was full and after 10 minutes of use the oil level still showed full. We are using very inexpensive canola oil. Lubricates well and the best part is it is cheap. We have finally been able to trim our trees without calling a tree trimming service. Using the saw by itself or with the pole is easy and comfortable to use. Connecting the saw to the pole is a bit of a challenge the first few times. The chain tensioner is important to keep tightening it very often--about every 5 minutes. We had it come apart and struggled to put it back together. But once we kept turning the knob to keep the tension tight we were able to cut for hours.

Simplicity at its finest

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this chainsaw on a stick with some amount of trepidation but when I put it together plugged it in and started cutting branches of at least 6 inches in diameter and many at that I must have cut about 1/2 a cord of branches first on the pole then alone on the ground cut and stacked just to verify the amount cut in just a few hours,If this saw sees longevity then I have certainly made the purchase of a lifetime in this saw

Chain flys off

I bought this saw and liked the idea of the easy chain tighten system. However after a few minutes of use the chain came off the bar. After this happened a couple of times, I started to watch the adjustment knob while I was cutting. It would slowly vibrate and loosen. There is no locking device to keep this from happening. This is going to be a return to the store item. Never again.

I'm sorry to hear about the trouble that you are having. The chainsaw will automatically tighten itself, however, the first couple of uses it may come off. After using the chainsaw a couple of times, it will start to adjust and stay tighten on its own.

Simply Outstanding Performance and Quality

With fall upon us, I began seeing a need to definitely get some tree limbs cut back and trimmed which were well out of my reach and too high up. I began considering a pole trimmer once again, Having already owned 2 previous pole trimmers which performed terribly and broke within the first 18 months of use. I began to explore other avenues, and came upon this Polo/Chain Saw trimmer from WORX. Being a current owner of their 16" Electric chain saw and very pleased with its performance and quality, that I thought I give this new product that Worx has out a try. Still a little skeptical but gave it a try. When it arrived, I notice that the quality seem to be there as is in their electric chain saw. The pole and saw are easily attached and secured together. There is also a nice tether attached to pole handle that assists in keeping the electric cords together. I gave the saw a good work out at different lengths out to its max reach of 10' Ft and it performed 100%. It did a fine job in trimming the branches at any of the lengths. The quality is certainly there in this product. Do note it is a little top heavy when its extended out to its maximum length, but manageable but considering that this tool is not only pole trimmer but a nice small 10" inch chain saw .I tried using the chain saw as is and it performed flawless just like my 16" saw does You have 2 great tools in one. !!!!! Note: If you pick one of these great tools, be sure to pick up a bottle of chain saw oil as this one doesn't come with any. I also highly recommend using a good quality 12 gauge outdoor extension cord for optimal performance Overall I am please with the 2-in-1 Pole Saw & Chain Saw and would recommend it to my friends and family and anyone in need a pole/chain saw trimmer. ***
