This planter is attractive and at a great price! However, instructions are unclear and functionality of the planter is questionable. It is not a deep planter as there is a bottom about a third of the way down from the top. There are no drain holes in the very bottom, so I'm not sure how water will drain. Water drains from the partition into the bottom. Instructions would have been helpful. I'm afraid water will just be left standing in the very bottom and possibly attract mosquitoes.

I purchased these planters to replace old plastic wicker ones that had fallen apart due to sun rot. They are tall and very sturdy, and should last for many years. There is a plastic "shelf" about 10" down from the top, so you don't have to fill up the entire base with rock or dirt. My only minor complaint is they did not come with instructions on how to use the various watering techniques available. The bottoms come sealed with no drain holes so you can use these indoors. I am using them outdoors, so I drilled drainage holes at the 4 dimples on the bottom which marked the locations to drill. These planters can also be "self-watering," by drilling holes in other locations (but again, no instructions were included).

These planters look nice. That’s about it. I have them on my front porch. Full sun. Two problems. The sun is fading the black. Second problem, they are supposed to be self watering. My plants aren’t getting enough water on top. My plants keep dying. I have to keep remembering to water them.

Great looking planters. The design is well thought out with a drainage system near the top therefore the soil doesn’t take up the entire area. Great price. Sam’s marketing team did a great job of making sure the planters were available when they received a plethora of plant options. So I grabbed the planter and spent some time trying them out with the actual planter. Ended up purchasing two of these planters along with my favorite plants (while doing that you can google the plants to see if they’re good for your particular zone/area, pet/human toxicity etc). Definitely the best value for the most impact. And the plants are still alive after a month so that’s something!

Beware if you’re not 100% sure about these tall plant planters, because you’re stuck with them! Rather they are Damaged, have missing parts no refund or return. I just received these last week! The plugs are missing on the gray ones! So, I was going to return, exchange or get a refund! I was told by AI assistant they were not eligible for return replacement or refund no matter what was wrong with them. Nowhere, that I could find online did it said they were not eligible for refund or return? Is this SC new return policy? I’m gonna try to take him to the club and get a second opinion is this is not right!

Planter looks nice and seems to work with self watering feature once I figured out how to do it. Gave 3 stars for lack of providing rope required for self-watering feature with the planter and lack of instructions on how to install rope for self-watering feature once purchased separately. I found limited instructions on Sam’s Club website for item when scrolling through images of item. Disappointed that planter has self-watering feature but the rope required didn’t come with item when purchased at Sam’s Club. Also there were no instructions on how to install rope once purchased separately. I figured a way on my own that seems to be working.

These are perfect. I was looking for a tall planner to put put underneath my two front windows on the porch and these fit the Bill very sturdy but yet lightweight you can’t go wrong with these planters.

These planters are not meant to be in the sun. We’ve had them only for a few months and they’ve warped and look terrible. Disappointed.

These are exactly what I wanted. The planter is good quality. I bought 2. They have a shelf about 18" - 24" down with a hole in it, so soil doesn't go into the whole planter. The hole in the shelf makes the drainage good.
