Second time not a charm

This is the second set of Rugged Trail T/A on my 2003 Explorer. After the first set (OEM) ran nearly 70,000 miles I decided to buy them again. The second set did not last nearly as long, barely 40,000 miles and my driving is still the same. I rotate reguarly and have my alignment checked every six months. Very disappointing. I'm looking for new tires now and I'm reluctant to try them again. I truly can't recommend either way.

Very satisfied with brand ...

Very satisfied with brand style and service of this tire being the originals and did not want to chang, I wanted to stay with same wanting the spare to match since it was almost with-out wear. Tires are still servicable enough even though they are seven years old stil have lots of tread left , plan to put them on my 1949 Chevy 3600 .

Defender 2's are LOUD, LOUD tires

I wish I could give a "0" to the defender 2. I just purchased them last week and they are LOUD. Very, Very LOUD. They are so bad my wife does not want to drive in the Santa Fe with me. If you are smart, please stay away from the Defender 2. Thank you.

142,800 miles and they ...

142,800 miles and they still had 4/32 tread on them. I was going to make them last to 150,000 but I got a hole in the right front tire that was to close to the sidewall to fix. Definately bought the same tires for replacement. I will be disappointed if my new ones don't go 150,000 miles. lol

Nice ride but ugly sidewall

I got these tires new on my 2011 Dodge Ram 2500 and overall I'm very happy with the ride and handling. The problem I'm having is that the sidewalls started coming apart at around 25000mi. I currently have 40k miles on the truck and the sidewall continues to flake off in larger quarter sized chunks. I had these tires on a Jeep Cherokee and this wasn't a problem. I'm at the point where I need to replace the tire, the sidewalls look awful and the tread is pretty low. 40-45k miles are the most I'd put on these. This truck is used for daily driving and city towing, little or no off road.

Absolutely Terrible

Like others other reviewers, I had these tires as OEM tires on a brand new 2014 Nissan Frontier Pro-4x and had very early failures on all 4 tires. My tires had to be replaced a few weeks ago after only 13 months and 12,303 miles due to excessive cracking in every groove of every tire. Absolutely terrible. This is not an uncommon problem with these tires and BFGoodrich should fix it. There is a lot of information on the internet available on these tires cracking.

Smooth ride, great handeling

I purchased a set of these to replace a set of General AltMAX RT 43's. Boy, what a world of difference. Much quieter, and smoother ride. Handeling was noticeably quicker response. These tires really hug the road. Have driven on multiple road surfaces and they grip well in all terrain.

This tire has worked very ...

This tire has worked very well on my wife's Ford Escape. They have handled the snowy winters very well. Wet road traction is very good, noise isn't bad, and the life has been over 50k. They do fine on a hard-pack dirt road or light offroad adventures but leave more to be desired for sand or rough terrain. As of now I am planning on installing another set of these tires on the Escape!

I currently have 45,000 ...

I currently have 45,000 miles on these tires and they have performed excellent for off-road and highway driving. I was surprised of how smooth they feel on the highway and they have excellent traction as well. One thing I found out about extending the life of your tires is to rotate and balance them every 5,000 miles and so far its paying off. These tires are also built tough, my wife loves to hug curbs and the sidewalls are definately holding up, thanks BFGoodrich.
