These tires were on the ...

These tires were on the truck when I bought it so I didn't actually choose them. But being a fan of BFG, I was happy to have them. This winter has really put them to the test. The deep snow and ice has been more than these Long Trails can handle. A good all around tire but I'll get All-Terrain T/As next time.

Excessive wear at only 23K miles

These tires were OE on my 2012 Toyota Tundra. Have maintained every service interval, including tire rotation all thru my local Toyota dealer and was told to replace all four tires (at ONLY 23,878 miles) given they have left than 3/32" left. This is extremely disappointing for any tire, much less a BF Goodrich. The 23K miles is 90% highway driving, reminder city. Based on this excessive wear I would not recommend these tires for full size pickups.

Toyota Tacoma Xtra Cab 2015 39K miles

Good tire on highway, dirt and snow. Not good on miles, did not push these tires hard, mostly highway miles. Just hit the tread bars at 39K and noticing they do not do well in the ran or snow. Lucky for me I purchased another set of wheels that came with these same tires(he said he had about 25K on them) that are just above the tread bars and they handle the snow and rain just fine. Will be interesting then they hit the tread bars will they handle the same as my stock tires did when they hit the tread bar. So my take on these for my Taco and driving style is they are a 40k tire as I do not feel comfortable driving them on snow and rain at posted speed limits when they hit the tread bar. Will not be purchasing them again as I feel there are better tires out there for the money.

Great riding tires recommended by the dealer

I always buy Michelin tires for my travel and performance vehicles. They are tough, dependable and long lasting. This is the second set of Michelin tires I have purchased for the Explorer. The first set had shorter stopping numbers than the Defender, but I went with these based on the dealer recommendation. Plus these are 80k mile tires. I have not driven them in the rain to test stopping distance due to the recent drought in Texas. But I can say they stand up to the 100+ heat at highway speeds. I highly recommend Michelin tires.

Two Sets Down, Probably Go w/ Third Set

I am closing out my second set of these tires on a 2007 Toyota Tundra. Am seriously considering a third set because I have had good luck thus far. Have averaged 55K/set so far. I could run this second set a little further, but I think it makes sense to not push things from a safety perspective, particularly where wet road traction is concerned. I am a little concerned with some of the comments on this site regarding sidewall cracking, but I am pretty sure that I will once again choose this tire for my third set. I will definitely post an updated review if things don't work out well!

I would buy this product again and again

I bought my F150 Lariat 4x4 new back in 2007. I have just reached a little over 70,000 miles on my tires and they now need to be changed. The tires are very quiet. My son loves them compared to the other tires that I had on another truck. You could hear me coming from a mile away LOL. These tires are very quiet, smooth running and have worn very well. I would highly recommend them. Thumbs up, Goodrich.

Defective Tires

I got these tires on my brand new car less than a year ago. At first I thought they looked cool and performed well, but little did I know I was only going to have problems. In less than 9000 miles (thats not a typo) I had problems with 2 out of the 4 tires. First off I am not an aggressive driver and the tread is 50% gone. One tire will not stay inflated for more than a few days and the other popped while going less than five miles an hour on the nicest dirt road you have ever seen. Needless to say I will never get these tires again and I will never recommend these tires. Maybe they were just defective tires, I will never know because I am switching tires and never looking back. Maybe I just have bad luck.

Work well for the intended purpose

These are the OEM tires for my 2007 Toyota Tacoma 4X4 Crew Cab. Some reviewers don't like these tires for off-road, deep snow, or mud. These tires are not designed as true off-road tires, BF Goodrich makes other tires better suited for those applications. This on-road tire is a compromise for occasional off-road use and if you understand that, they are good tires. I have a very steep 200 ft. driveway since my house is on a hill in the mountains and even in over 12 inches of snow I haven't been stopped. This past week during hunting season I had to drive off-road to retrieve a deer and had no problems. If you don't know how to drive in snow or off-road there isn't a tire made that will help you. These tires are very quiet compared to off-road tires and wear is respectable. I'm getting over 35,000 miles a set, primarily on-road miles.

Best tire I've ever owned

My 2014 Subaru came with Continental tires that only endured for a little over 15k miles. I immediately put on the Defender tire in 2016. I have been going strong for over eight years and close to 90k miles on them. I'm just about due for my next set and you can rest assured that I'll be getting some Defender 2's.
