Great bug trap!

My husband and I bought one of these traps about 6 weeks ago. We were hesitant to buy based on the reviews but went ahead and tried it. So far, we've been very pleased with the trap. The cord is short so we used an extension cord to plug it in. It's super quiet. We have put it under our covered back deck. We both have noticed a significant reduction in mosquitoes as well as moths and even flies/beetles/wasps. We are able to sit on the back deck at night or any time of day for that matter and not use bug spray which is saying something since we live in AL near a creek in the summer time. My husband had been seeing swarms of mosquitoes hang around our back windows. At night, we are not having to swat 5 thousand moths out of our faces when we have the porch light on. I am not saying that it is 100% because every blue moon I do get bit on my leg but it's not enough to justify me applying bug spray. It says that it covers 0.5 acres but I haven't decided if it does go that far. I still spray if I go outside to do yard work. The reason I gave it 4 stars is that when you go to clean the trap out, anything that hasn't died from being trapped will fly out. I will say that less and less have flown out each time we've emptied it. A few things we have learned: -Do not try to open it up 24 hrs after because most of what is trapped WILL fly out. Give it time for the bugs to die - check in 2 or 3 weeks. -You have to keep it plugged in 24/7 in order for it to work. If you just plug it in while you are outside, you will capture bugs but they will escape once you turn it off. I know this seems like common sense but we've had a couple of friends that did this and were wondering why it wasn't working. -It does captures some flies but we have added a fly trap to supplement.

It helps me with bugs of all sorts

I have had this bug machine for two months. It does fill up in about 5 days and I have to dump and yes some are not dead yet but that is how this works. It seems to keep misquotes down for me as well as moths. Plus it is a nice little night light for the dogs to go out on the deck in the back. It came with extra bulbs and I have not had to change that yet. I am happy with my purchase.

Works Great

We had to come in at dusk because the mosquitos would eat us alive. We lived near a nature area. Had ours four years with no problems. Had to buy a replacement bulb just recently. We leave it on 24/7 and clean it out once a month or sometimes longer. Have a paper plate to cover top in case any bugs just got trapped. Just keep away from lights so it attracts mosquitos, gnats, moths. Our neighbors are also benefiting from the Dyna trap. Thanks

Doesn't catch mosquitoes

Bought this to help with the gazillion mosquitoes in our yard. It catches June bugs and moths quite well but doesn't really catch any mosquitoes. So I guess if you need to get rid of June bugs or moths, this really does work great for that! Unfortunately it doesn't really attract any other bugs.

For best results, we recommend placing your trap 20-40 feet from where you are spending time in your yard, and close to mosquito breeding areas. Worked well while it lasted

Caught tons of mosquitoes and flying bugs while it worked. When the bulb burnt out I easily replaced the bulb, however, the bulb did no work. Thinking it was the bulb, I swapped it out with another new bulb. The second new bulb did not work either. So now I have a trap that will suck in bugs should they accidentally fly in it... definitely nothing there now to attract them.

expect to work only 14 months

the fan went out 1 year and 2 months after I bought it…customer support said I have to buy a new one. Sent a 15% discount off the next one…woohoo Didn't even get to use the 2 replaceable bulbs. Was only used during the spring summer fall months…April to October.. Why would I buy another one of these faulty devices? Especially from a company that doesn't stand beside there product and the customer support isn't for the customer.

I am sorry to hear about the trap! The trap is backed and supported by our 1 year replacement policy. Unfortunately if it is beyond that period, a new trap will need to be purchased.

Piles up the bug bodies!!

I've been running mine non-stop since I bought it 2 months ago and I've never had issues with bulbs. And it has been slaying bugs!!! When I checked it after letting it go for a couple weeks there was a huge mound of mosquitoes, not to mention June bugs and moths. Sorry to hear others have had such trouble with theirs but I've had great luck with mine.

not worth the money

I have had this bug zapper for three months. Doesn't really attract anything but moths. Dumped the bug body holder and only a third of the bugs were actually dead. Lovely to see. The bulb burnt out and it took me 40 minutes to replace. Instructions on replacing are laughable at best. Once replaced the bulb immediately burnt out. I will be returning for a refund. I would give 0 stars but you cant.

Poor Quality

I've purchased two of these this year. First, I have to clean the fan daily because the insects get caked on and around the blades making the fan stop. On one unit, the light bulbs only last about six weeks. On the other unit, the light fixture stopped working all together.

Junk

It worked well for a year as evidenced by the number of flies caught in the basket. But two months out of warranty, the fan went out of balance for some reason, and it wouldn't work correctly. I was told by the company to get lost, they don't sell parts and its out of warranty.
