fishy smelly shrimp

Was looking for wild caught and not farmed raised. Found these in the frozen section. I’m a pretty experienced cook. I can make just about anything taste good. However these shrimp were disgusting. As soon as I opened the bag I knew they were bad. Expiration date of 2024. So I tried anyways. A little bit of this, a little bit of that, and they looked good. Nope! They tasted like spoiled fish. Through the whole bag away. Don’t buy.

Something is wrong with these shrimp

I recently bought 2 bags of the Argentine Red Shrimp. We’ve purchased these in the past and they’ve been good. This time, however, I had to return. After cooking the shrimp, and cooling the shrimp they appeared to be uncooked. I sent them back to the pan and cooked some more. They still appeared uncooked. I looked closely at the shrimp and found a gel substance on the shrimp. I was pulling off pieces of gel from them. After googling what it could be I do not feel comfortable buying this shrimp any longer. Please, Sams Club…check into this.

Food poisoning suspected...

When defrosting the shrimp there was a fishy odor (not chlorine or ammonia, just fish), I didn't realize that was completely abnormal for shrimp, cooked, ate several, taste was becoming increasingly fishy, stopped eating them. Within the hour, sick! Will not purchase seafood here ever again and would seriously stay away from this shrimp for your own safety.

Sam’s Replaced a better brand & RAISED THE PRICE

Sam’s Club replaced another brand of Argentine Red Shrimp That it used to carry (Marina del Rey) with it’s own Member’s Mark branch at the expense of quality. Worse yet, it raised the price by at least a dollar/2lbs. Very disappointing! (Attached is a picture of the other, better and less expensive brand Sam’s used to carry).

Had high hopes but was severely disappointed

Read good reviews on this and bought a bag. Loved that it was wild caught and extra large size. The shrimp smelled horrible (strong amonia smell) when I opened the bag. Decided to try cooking them still and they were mushy. Will not buy again and do not recommend.
