Over the past 2 years, I have purchased more than one box of the Buttery Chardonnay that ends up tasting extremely bitter and dry, tasting far more like Pinot Grigio than Buttery Chardonnay. It is incredibly frustrating that this keeps happening, and I can no longer trust that I'll get a smooth chardonnay when purchasing this box.

I had this wine for the first time about 2 years ago and loved it from the start! I do like the "oakiness" to it and appreciate the creamy flavor too! I believe that all wine drinkers should drink whatever wine makes them happy and when it comes to chardonnay this is my utility wine! Please keep producing!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When I thought about boxed wine, high quality and delicious did not come to mind. Well, Bota Box is a game changer. The Nighthawk Buttery Chardonnay has the richness and creaminess of a very high quality wine. You can taste the subtle oak and vanilla-like notes after each sip, and the color of the wine is a rich light honey. The packaging is sophisticated and even has a handle to easily carry to parties, camping, and the beach without needing a corkscrew or cleaning up broken glass. The spout is also very sturdy. We paired it with grilled salmon, and it was great!

The box was easy to open and the valve was easy to maneuver on the bottom opening for easy access. I like the fact that the wine will last for 30 days without losing its flavor. This is a nice option for people who do not want to drink wine every day.

If I write a review saying how great this is, it may be even harder to find. This is the biggest problem with this wine. I had about two glasses left in the box and gave Mom one, I went to the grocery store fully expecting to find a box, and nope. I circled the isles so long looking that the manager came over and asked if I needed help. I explained what I wanted and he said he's never heard of it but would ask his distributor. They had every other Bota option. This was a very large grocery store chain in the southeast, however this location was in Western NC and I purchased the original Box at a different chain in Lake Charles, LA. I'm a first responder and work natural disasters. I found this wine for the first time after Hurricane Laura, and only in the one store. When I returned to the project in Lake Charles the store was sold out. This vino is my happy place. Please send more and get it out there! By the way, your 'locate' link isn't working for me...

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great bang for your buck! The taste of this wine is great as an everyday drinking wine or patio sipper. Packaging is good for taking on the go and storing in the fridge. Quality and aroma is right on point. Would recommend for summer sipping!

I'll give it 4.5 out of 5 but....this was my first Nighthawk Gold box and frustration with the box. Someone or machine assembled the bag upside down. I had to open the box, pour a large glass (very good) try to insert the spout in the proper direction. The difficulty with this was the spout nozzle would not enter the carton opening unless I puored out enough to allow it to bend into the box opening. I really enjoyed the wine but...maybe Bota could send a coupon for the trouble. Ha Ha!

This wine has an interesting taste. It’s oaky, with hints of butterscotch and honey. The aroma and taste both remind me of a nice fall campfire and Werther’s butter candy. I can definitely see this wine being paired well with some roasted marshmallows or even better, S’mores! It’s a great sipping wine! Not something I’d want to drink glass after glass because it is a richer wine. However, I can see myself enjoying this wine in the fall, all cozy, beside a campfire! Would recommend!
