Weak Sidewall Tires

Drove over a pothole and a front tire sidewall cracked and tore.. I didn't think much of it because hey, those kinds of things happen. But a week later the outside sidewall on one of my rear tires developed a big bubble - totally unrelated to the pothole incident. I have absoluteltly no faith in these tires. In fact, my feeling is they are a high risk purchase.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We recommend returning to the place of purchase to have the tire inspected for warranty consideration. The local dealer should be able to determine if the damage is due to impact with the pothole or another issue. Should you or the dealer have a question, please contact our office Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM ET, at 1-800-847-3349.

Very good product

I have a 2010 challenger that came with the Contintal ContiProContact tires on it. I have over 30,00 miles on the car I drive over 700 miles a week and they have preformed great. Quiet smothe ride. The car is raited at 25 miles per gallon and I average 27 I have no complaints at all with this product.

Best Tires I have owned

These tires came on my 2007 VW and have performed well. I feel that, at 59k miles, they still have sufficient tread left. I just took a trip east (Ohio, West Va, & Va) through the mountains and through a wooded camp site and my ContiProContacts did a great job. I will replace them this fall (2011) with the very same model/brand. They will have lasted just over 60m miles with good performance. The photo I am uploading is the tread depth after our trip through the mountains. This is probably good enough for fair weather, conservative driving but definitely need replaced before winter. I have never had a set of tires last this long and give this kind of well-rounded performance. J.L

OEM Tires - Have Performed Well

The ContiProContact were OEM on my 2010 VW TDI Sportwagon. I have 53K on the car and looks like the tires would go the full 60k warranty. Just lost one yesterday due to road hazard so replacing two with the original. Will let the other two go to near 60k. The handling has been excellent in all weather even now at high mileage. I agree with other posts that they did get noisy. This was past 35K but manageable for me since I drive almost always windows up on the highway. The tire that suffered road hazard in the sidewall also had what appeared to be some herniation in that area so suspect previous damage. They've served well and received only normal rotation/inflation care.

Great overall tire

I am on my third set of Continental ProContacts and that statement pretty much sums it up. These tires are so good, I don't even consider another type for my car. My 2006 Fusion now has over 116K miles on it and they work great. Smooth and quiet ride, handles good in wet and dry conditions, great traction....I could go on and on, but simply, they are darn good tires that don't sock you in the wallet. How good are they? I am going to put a set on a 1976 Mercury Montego MX that I am restoring and the size I am going for has a whitewall design to fit the look of the car.

Cannot understand the bad reviews I've seen!

I bought a Ford Fusion in 2009 with these tires and 've just hit 88000 miles and still have not hit the tread markers. I'm heading out on another long road trip and will replace the tires just because its time. I could probably get through the fall wth the tread they have, but no need to take a risk when heading out of town. These tires have been great. Very good in rain and snow, no issue with excessive road noise and they have lasted longer than I ever expected. The negative reviews I've read here just blow my mind...how could the same tires impact people so differently. for my money these tires have been great!

Shopping for a New Set Today

This was the tire that came with our new Ford Escape and we're shopping for new tires as our mileage approaches 80,000 on this set. We could actually get a lot more miles out of them, but Winter arrived early in Wisconsin in 2019 and the tread depth just isn't what it should be a full season of snow and ice. In warm weather climate, I wouldn't even think of changing tires for another 10,000 miles.

I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS TIRE!

These tires are HORRIBLE!!! I have a 300 Mercedes Benz and the dealer in Pittsburgh pa Rahal is always telling me my tires need replaced every 50,000 miles, I've replaced these tires it seems like once a yr. Now I cant and will not stand in good ratings for these tires! I really think the manufacture and the dealers are in cahoots together!!!

Thank you for providing feedback about our tires. Please keep in mind that the tread wear warranty is 40,000 - 60,000 miles depending on the speed rating of your tires. If you are averaging 50,000 miles, this is in line with the product warranty. As for recommendations on replacement, the tires do not need replacement until they reach 2/32" of tread remaining. However, your service department may recommend replacement at 4/32" if your area has severe winter conditions.

73k miles at 4/32nds. Excellent Threadlife and Traction!

My 2017 Accord came with these tires. They have great threadlife and traction. I know Continental website states that the warranty on these tires is 40k miles. I have 73k miles on them right now and still at 4/32nds. I do the rotation myself at 8k miles depending on the thread depth on rears and front. I would definitely replacing them with the same tires. The only thing i dont like is the road noise from these tires other than that everything is great!

118,000 miles on factory tires

I bought a 2017 vw passat with 235/40 r 19 conti procontacts. I now have 118,000 miles on the car with 3 of the original tires. I hit a giant pot hole and blew one out. But I also hit a piece of concrete with another wheel and it cracked the rim and did not do any damage to tire inside or out. I can probably get another 20,000 miles out of these tires but I might change before winter gets here. Plan on buying another set.
