Limited options

A solid and historical performance tire used on many older classic cars that's dying a slow death as BF no longer produces other 50R15 T/A sizes to match (e.g. 265/255/245 for smaller front wheels). A true tragedy. Guess I have to buy Hankook for a US made car?

Brown raised letters?

Purchased two sets of the tires for my 1966 and 1987 mustangs. What an embarrassment. The letters are supposed to be white. I tried every possible cleaner and nothing will get them white. Both sets of tires are like that. If I could take them back I would. I have advised all my car club friends to stay away from these poor quality tires

Classic Camaro with brown raised letters

After many years of service It was time for new BFG's with the raised white letters. After purchasing the new BF Goodrich TA tires I cleaned them up and noticed that they didn't come clean as I have been accustomed to. After a short drive I noticed the white letters were turning Brown. I decided to clean the tires once again only to get the same results. After several extensive cleanings the raised white letters turn brownish within the same day! I'm going to reach out to BFG. I can't drive this car with brownish letters.

Muscle Car tire upgrade

I purchased a 1969 Ford Torino 351 GT with reproduction Polyglas tires on it. I'd forgotten how bad bias ply tires were - the car wandered all over the road, the tires squealed easily - it felt like there was a brick on each wheel. Traction in the rain was scary. I replaced them with 215/70-14 Radial T/A's - a good match for the original F70-14 size. Huge improvement - much better traction wet or dry, better grip in the corners and off the line. They even ride better. In my opinion, installing these tires is the best single thing you can do to improve the handling of an older muscle car. A+. Only drawback is you have to change the old "bias ply" front end alignment settings to get the best handling from these radial tires.

Brown Letters

My 155-80r15s are one month old. I bought them specifically because I like the bright contrast of the raised letter look. They began to turn brown immediately upon washing off the "blue". I have noticed other T/A radials that look similar, but I have noted some older ones that are brilliant white. Even some older T/A All Terrains that looked perfect. Lots of your people trying lots of different things but I am not sensing a permanent solution. I can't imagine Michelin messing with the compounding formula. How can they allow this to go on? They certainly know about it! It seems to me to be a QC/QA issue. And I am worried about what one commenter said, that they got to the point of a permanent stain he could not correct! I've tried old formula bleach-white, acetone, lacquer thinner and turpentine. I've put carabuna wax over the "GOOD" in Goodrich to see if it makes any difference. Nothing so far has worked perfectly. They are never brilliant white and they always revert. All I can do is spread the work among collectors to stay away from these tires and encourage Cooker to come up with a BFG equivalent that gives you what you pay for. On a low mileage collector car I am now stuck with these for years cleaning them letter by letter prior to showings. Good luck.

GREAT TIRES

I've been running B.F.Goodrich tires on all my cars and trucks sense the 80's have never had any problems with any of there tires and just last year we replaced all 6 vehicle's tires and believe me my wife is the roughest on the tires of the cars she drives.

Crazy Brown Lettering wrecks the cars look!

Bought new BFG TA radials for my restored 70 camaro and within a month the white lettering had turned brown never to be white again no matter what I clean it with. Even searched out the best detailer in my city and let him have a go at it and they were slightly whiter for about 48 hours and then back to the brown. Should have gone with the Nitto's but had BFG's on it and loved them, these new ones not so much.

Exactly what I needed!

BLACK LETTERS OUT! 69 1/2 440 "Six Pack" Super Bee". Car was built with plain steel wheels, chromed lug nuts & Redlines. Its a wide car that SMOKES any tire you put on it. Well? These DO "Hook Up" much better than ANY brand Ive ever used. Yes I can still "spin" them, but thats NOT what I needed. Ezcellent tires. 295/50-15's No 100% Satisfied! MoPar or NoCar!

Was very pleased with the tires overall performance,Put close to a hundred thousand miles on the same set of tires still have good tread.Only problem if you would call it one. After putting so many miles on a set is tread seperation. Its time for a new set and Im having no second thoughts on purchasing BF GOODRICH TA's once again they put all 400hp to the ground thanks for a quality tire.
