very sturdy machine

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Was using an old full squat rack that I wanted to add attachments to but couldn't find the right fit for the crossbars, etc. I came across this machine somehow, read a few reviews and then did a price check. It has held up well over the past 6 months. I recommend to anyone who wants to workout. It has something for everyone.

I could not be more THRILLED with this purchase. I spent several weeks looking for the most functional and affordable cage system out there and I believe this is IT!!!! What a great buy! Super sturdy and all the bells and whistles were completely worth it. The Pulley system works great, the bench and squat rack are perfect, the dip station is fantastic, the pull up station is a fabulous extra perk, and the storage for weights, dumbbells and miscellaneous items is crucial! I LOVE THIS CAGE! Really fantastic. Not too terrible of a set up. Just make sure you have a 5/8ths socket wrench along with a monkey wrench (some of the bolts are a little too tight spaced for a socket). Took me about 4-4.5 very leisurely set up hours. You could do it in 2.5 or 3 BUT MAKE SURE you have someone to help you. Just for balancing the cage as it comes together. Don’t want it falling on your head. My wife helped me and she weighs 110lbs. Also, I had no problem but word to the wise...DO NOT tighten the frame until the instructions say so. THAT would be a huge headache. Complaints/Problems: 1) If I was to be knit picky I would say it would be great if the dip bars could fold up/strap against the side when not in use but I solved that with some Velcro straps I have. 2) You don’t have much wiggle room when doing squats within the cage and may have to remove the dip bars. However, that just means you’ll have to ensure excellent form when squatting so as to not occasionally bump the cage. 3) As you rightfully imagine, The pulley system is not exactly Olympic grade ;) so Make sure to register with Marcy to get your 2 year warranty and also Get the 4 year sports equipment protection package from Walmart. FYI that’s why I went with Walmart over Amazon or elsewhere. Their 4 year protection package. But these issues aren’t really issues. Just playing devils advocate and being as transparent as possible for YOUR reviewing benefit! :) No real complaints or problems to report at all. Again, for $430 this is the BEST cage on the market under $1500. Guaranteed!!! In fact I think you would have To spring for a $2500 ROGUE to get anything better that’s this functional. Don’t pass up this opportunity! You’ll save thousands in gym memberships...not too mention time!

Picked up at store had no problem with packaging being damaged or missing pieces. Cage is very sturdy, not quite as much as a bigger fuller cage but works for what I need. Not the best for Olympic lifts like heavy squats or dead lift but perfect for a home gym.

Follow instructions carefully as some will take some thinking. Seems the unit will be very adequate for the beginner and intermediate user. Unit looks very good assembled.

Amazing product ordered this 2 years ago this machine went through beatings and it is still in great condition I highly recommend this product to beginners, intermediates and even serious lifters

Great product. I have been weight training and exercising for 25 years. My background is military. Excellent home gym. Would definitely recommend to anyone that is serious about working out and weight training. Extremely convenient, no excuses.

Got this to work out with my son. He likes it. Install was straight forward. Graphical not written. Took 4 hours. Many parts. Overall it's pretty sturdy. Some shakiness but I expected that. Pulley system is good. Free-flowing with no hiccups. Pull up handles are excellent. Can perform wide and close grip. I suggest a good bench to complement. I'm using leftover gold's gym XRS 20 which I plan on replacing. It is not an idea bench for me. I really recommend this cage for the beginner or those that don't have time to get to the gym.
