Jennie-O Lean Ground Turkey, Case ( 20 lbs.)

Ground turkey is a good and healthy alternative to those who try to limit their red meat intake. This ground turkey is great.  We use it for everything from:  turkey burgers, lasagna, spaghetti, etc.  I would, definitely, recommend it.  It’s a great value! 

The only reason I didn’t give this item a 5 star review is because of the way it’s packaged.  It’s 20 lbs of ground turkey; you get 8 packages.  Each package is 2.5 lbs of ground turkey. I wish it was packaged in 1 lbs packages.

I don't know what is going on with Sam's on this item, if this is an error or what.  I have been buying 2 cases of this item about every 6 weeks for years.  I usually pay $43.23 per case giving me a discounted price of about $1 off per pound for buying 4 packages instead of singles which is the whole point of buying by the case.  I go into purchase this on June 13 and the price per case has shot up from $43.23 to $59.92, giving only a $.10 discount now buying by the case.  Mind you, the price per pound on the single packages has not increased.  When I tried talking to someone in the meat department they were of no help, they would only say that everything has gone up in price.  I tried explaining to them that it has not, only the pricing per case has and that it can't be correct.  Buying by the case only gives me $2 off per case or $.50 off per single package if bought by the case. The other ground turkey they sell by the case is properly discounted by about $1.02 per case which is about right in the discounted pricing on cases.  I got nowhere with the guy and ended up buying the other ground turkey which is actually better quality for $2.68 per lb. by the case but less amount (16 lbs. vs. 20 lbs.) vs. $3.00 per lb. by the case for this lesser quality item.

No longer a good deal in bulk

This is part of our German Shepard’s food which we make every 12-14 days. He devours a pound of food in just a few minutes.
