I enjoy Black Southern Comfort Egg Nog the best. Unfortunately, Sam’s does not carry the ‘Red’ Vanilla choice. The price is super excellent but the inventory seems to almost always run out several days before Christmas. This year was no different. Went in Friday the 22ND (Note I did purchase 2 beginning just before Thanksgiving and a week, ten days later for the other.), none available though a inventory said there was 113! A Sam’s person that I drafted went above and beyond (Not his regular job.) when he went into the area behind the refrigerated shelves (People who are Claustrophobic need not apply!) and could find none. He recommended calling in before 12:30 and after 3:00 PM, to see if it was on a truck needing to be unloaded.

After picking up my order and returning home, I noticed a milky liquid had spilled. Realizing it was the egg nog, the liquid was spilling out at the opening as though something had pierced the carton. I called to report the problem. I was disappointed because I love that brand of egg nog and it is oftentimes difficult to obtain.

I normally buy a quart of whatever egg nog is available at the grocery store, so I did not hesitate to pick up a half gallon of this even though I'd never tried this particular brand. Unfortunately that was a big mistake! The egg nog wasn't as sweet or spiced as I was used to (though that me be a plus for some), but the main issue is the thickness. I know egg nog is supposed to be thick, but they really went overboard with the guar gum and carageenan on this one. It was bordering on slimey and was very off-putting.

Southern Comfort Egg Nog is too thin and doesn't have any of the characteristics of a good Egg Nog. Egg Nog should be thick, rich, and creamy. I have had canned egg nog that was closer to these characteristics than this brand. Further more a good egg nog should be the consistency of melted ice cream. I do not requamend that anyone buy this overpriced brand of egg nog.

This is my favorite dairy drink regardless of the time of year. Great addition to coffee, too.
