For the cost, I wasn't expecting much more than something I could make Old Fashioneds and Manhattans with. Surprisingly decent as a sipper. I'm planning on trying their Bottled-in-bond next.

We thought we'd give this a try and for the price, figured if nothing else, it would be an ok mixer. Much to our surprise, this is a great sipping bourbon! We'll buy it again without hesitation.

I bought 2 bottles in hopes that the fact that this is made at the 1792 distillery. And the fact that it's not expensive. I drank about 2 shots out of the first one and gave it away. told my friend it tastes like the ground. I was hoping it was just that bottle. So I tried the next one and got the same results. I looked it up, and they said you can get these notes if the malt barley is dried using peat moss. This could be the case as they do this with scotch. It's not my kind of bourbon. If you mix it with something, I can tell you it's not as forward. I think that is how I'm going to get the rest of this bottle down. However i probably will not buy this again. I do, however, think their Rum and tequila are pretty good. I compare the Tequila to 1800 and their spiced rum to Captain Morgan.

I didn't find any useful reviews, so I decided to write the one I wish I had when making a purchase. This is a great bourbon/whiskey with a nose of caramel, orange and typical "whiskey smell" which is how I describe a muddled combination of grain, grass, peat, pepper and spice. The first taste confirmed the nose appeal but added a bit of a burn and an after taste of candy (of course not sweet but a dry version of toasted orange sugar). Although I was looking for a more mild but similar taste with a bit more butter or butter scotch taste this Members Mark Bourbon is great for what it is - to me, a bit distinct in it's own right. I will be buying more.

Bought a bottle last year at this same time and was surprised at how good it was at the price point, something I was not expecting. This is from the Bartons 1792 Distillery, which I have a couple of bottles (Small Batch and Full Proof). Have to say the flavor profile on this bottle is a tab bit richer tasting than the small batch. Wish Sams would stock it year-round but seems to be a seasonal item. Grab one!

This Sam's bourbon is sourced from Barton, which produces some pretty good stuff. This is no exception. Not only is this a decent mixer bourbon, but it is good neat. On a true scale it is 3 out of 5 stars as only your absolute favorites should be rated that high, but I am giving it 5 as it is a great price for a good bourbon and realistically people turn their nose up at anything rated less than a four.

So, I found this little gem of a bottle at my Sams Club (Riverside,CA). $18.98 for 750ml bottle. Gotta tell ya, it is very good. Smooth and tasty. I went back and told all my friends about it. If you like whiskey, youll love this tasting. Made in Bardstown, KY by Barton 1792 Distillery. Highly recommended.
