Perfect for my yard cleanup needs

I am the sole caregiver for my elderly father, so if anything happens to me, both of us are in big trouble…so I am extremely cautious with power tools, especially chainsaws. I bought your Jawsaw a while ago, and never set it up until this weekend, after my neighbor gently said some words about the branches in my yard, leaning against our shared fence, which have been there since Hurricane Sandy. And…your Jawsaw was ridiculously EASY to set up and use, and very effective! I cleared a whole bunch of branches in a quarter hour without breaking a sweat. Even the motor was quieter than I expected. Wish I had waited to buy the cordless version, but nonetheless, I am very happy with the Jawsaw. Thanks for a great idea!!!

Average Review due to Extension

The base chain saw is Great it does the job well and fast, highly recommended. I would like to see the design include a feature which would prevent the blade from getting pinched on a cut, a bar could be rotated into the cut opening before it begins to bind. The Base unit with the Extension Handle is to heavy to lift up and use from to 8-12 feet definitely. I would even say using the Extension makes the unit to heavy to use for most people unless you are straight under the branch(es) you want to cut. It takes less strength to hold it straight up and cut then it does when you have to hold it at an angle to get to the branch to cut. I would not recommend the Extension Handle for most people, and I am not a weak 66 year old. The rating is based on the Base Unit only. I would give the Extension a 2 due poor handling because of its added weight.

Does what it's say!!!!!!

I love the JawSaw! Worx did a great job with this concept. Saves so much time. It is effortless to cut branches, and best of all cutting them to size for fire wood or to dispose of, once they are on the ground, is so fast and effective! It's fun.

Ease of operation, lightweight, efficient.

I am a 70 yr old single woman, and cannot use gas operated tools due to weight and difficulty pull starting. Your products have allowed me to do projects that I have not been able to do for MANY years. I LOVE YOUR JAW SAW, AND YOUR TRIMMER/EDGER, life has become so much better for me. I could not believe how easy it is for me to operate and handle these. Thank you Works for coming into my life.

Awsome piece of equipment

I bought this because it would let me be independent and not need help from family members. It was awesome! It does the jobs I need to do and is easy to handle. I have arthritic hands and wrists. This saw handled well and did not create any issues for me. Another fine piece of equipment from Worx!

Easy to use safe to opperate

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) I purchased my JawSaw about a month ago. Many of my rental homes had over grown branches growing over the roof. With my JawSaw and an extension arm, I was able to cut most of the branches from the ground without the need for a ladder.

I'm now a lumberjack!

Bought this, with extension pole, about three years ago and never used it. Just now I put some oil in the thing, plugged it in, ran it a couple time to circulate the oil, and BOOM! - I cut some 5" limbs like they were BUTTAH! What fun! Now the city will pick up my logs and I'll have a neat yard. I may even rent myself out to neighbors for a price. (Now I wish I had bought the cordless one.) I've bought five WORX tools and will always be a fan.

So Convenient

I tried this saw at my sister's house and could not believe how easy it was to use. Although I am in my 50s, I was able to raise this above my head and cut branches!! I bought the electric version, but if you have a large yard, you might want the battery operated one for convenience. i could not believe how easy and quick I could cut through branches. Cutting larger branches down to workable size was easy to do. I wasn't worried about safety at all. A chain saw has its place, but this works for branches. The only part that I wish was different was how much of the branch was left. It leaves about 2 inches of branch next to the trunk, and I would have liked to have the cut flush to the trunk.

Handy, very safe saw

I have had my JawSaw for about a year and a half. I use it to cut shrubbery and branches around my residence. You have to plug it into an electric outlet. Not a problem as I have plenty of them as well as ample extension cords. Worx now offers a cordless 56 volt model. I don't know if it is as powerful as the corded model that I have. The saw is best used for wood under about four inches thick. The jaw feature with the teeth helps hold the wood as you close the saw in a scissors-type motion through it. It cuts very quickly and efficiently. It is so quiet that hearing protection is not needed. You still should have eye protection though. It is easy to maintain with bar oil in an accessible reservoir. I have several hours of cutting already completed with no degradation in the sharpness of the blades. This tool will not replace a chainsaw for larger cuts, or places that are inaccessible such that you cannot insert the whole jaw around the wood. The design is ingenious. The tool is very light for its capability. The feature of enclosing the pivoting chain within a fixed "jaw" frame makes it very safe. It would be very difficult to accidentally cut yourself with this tool. An extension is available to allow you to reach higher with it, but I do not have it. I have used the JawSaw standing on a ladder with no apprehension whatsoever. I see no need for the extension in the work I do, but others might find it useful. I highly recommend the corded JawSaw. My only suggestion for improvement involves the clip used to retain the extension cord. It is relatively small, and difficult to thread a moderate gauge extension cord through. I suggest they enlarge the clip somewhat since larger gauge extension cords are often desirable for outside work.
