Really nice - in club availability not nice

We got these for my teenage son and wife - he really enjoyed it - they're great quality and a reasonable price (except the whole shipping thing - we saw display models in our local club but NONE in stock, nor any other clubs in a 100 mile radius. Thankfully customer service waived the $100+ shipping fee, since ship to club wasn't even an option. I think they'd sell A LOT more if they offered free ship to club.

Kenai Maiden Voyage @ Lake Powell

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was fortunate to have the opportunity to test drive this Kenai before it hit the market thanks to the lovely folks at Lifetime! My husband and I both took turns on it while enjoying Lake Powell, although he ultimately stole it from for the majority of our trip as he took a liking to the comfort of the padded seat and extra leg room. We have enjoyed the basic sit on top Lifetime Daylite 8ft kayaks up until now but the Kenai was definitely an upgrade on many levels. The Kenai sits a little over 10ft long so combined with the padded seat and backrest it made for a very enjoyable trip especially on longer journeys to lower Antelope Canyon. I loved the extra dry storage beneath the deck to stash another dry layer, snacks and electronics as well but be sure to have your own dry bag and chord otherwise you might lose items as there's nothing to contain your goodies. There was tons of bungee reinforced space at the front and back of vessel for storage and our cooler of provisions. We were grateful for the heavy duty T - handles on front and back and side luggage handles that helped us to maneuver to the waterfront which proved to be exceptionally challenging at the Antelope Point Marina that is about 100ft below normal water levels currently. We had to hike down and back up again a steep/loose gravel hill but at least had a good grip to make it out. I will say being a petite 5'4 gal I was thankful for my husband's help getting the Kenai to the water in this case because it is almost 20 lbs heavier than the Daylite I'm accustomed to (Daylite 36.5lbs vs. Kenai 53.5lbs) Lastly - the Kenai is sturdy AND fast! I am 7months pregnant, had our 80lb golden retriever cruising with me, plus our cooler and even through the large wake and chop that came our way from motorized vessels I felt very secure. Paddling against the wind wasn't as challenging either. The Kenai left whoever was on the Daylite far behind even with the added weight. For reference my husband is about 190 pounds and 6ft 2". Our pup loves to swim as well so she was in and out of the boat often and we were both able to grab her life jacket to get her back in without capsizing which was a plus LOL. Overall, Kenai was a true "Dreamboat" and we can't wait to rally some longer distance paddles with her this summer now that speed and comfort are on our side! Might just need to get a second one or I see a lot of roshambo in our future.

Damaged kayak poor customer service

Worst customer service ever. One kayak came in damaged. Immediately reported thru Sam’s Club. Vendor was notified but never responded. Replacement for the was ordered but never sent. New order for 2 issued, and pickup for the first made for pickup. After waiting all day, 4:45 PM driver arrived. Said he needed them on a box. I explained delivered separately in plastic bags. Then he said he only had 1 bar code label but needed 2. He left without taking either. I canceled the complete order all together. Not worth the hassle.

Where are my kayak and paddles?!

Like several other reviewers, I did not receive a complete shipment. I received one kayak. Sam's Club said it is the carrier's responsiblity. The carrier is searching the dock. At this point the likelly scenario is that I'll take the kayak I did receive to the store for a refund.

Scam. Received 1 of 2 kayaks

Only received one of two kayaks. It was delivered outside of the original delivery time frame 2 hours earlier than scheduled so I had not gotten home from work yet. Upon discovering the delivery, imagine my surprise to see they only delivered one kayak and marked the order complete. Their customer service team’s response has been poor at best. Between automated robots, people with thick accents, no response at all from the 3rd party delivery service and slow response time over email correspondence. I would never recommend to anyone going forward making a large freight order unless you wish to get completely ripped off and scammed.
