Marcy power tower

The power tower was easy to assemble and looks nice. It matches my other marcy equipment well. The build is not overly sturdy, I weigh 150lbs and there is a fair amount of flex in the frame while doing dips and chinups. There is no step on the chinup side so if your not tall enough to reach the bar you will need a stool. Im 5 feet 6 inches and could jump to reach the bar but the flex in the frame make that not a safe option. Also, the back pad is very close to the line required to do a chinup. I am thin and have a sometimes bump the frame on my chest/stomach - unfortunately I am more focused on not touching the pad rather than focusing on my chinup. You can see in the product video they never show that part while demonstrating chinups. Other than that it is an OK product however I did expect a bit more.

Large solid piece of equipment

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have added this to my home gym. It was not too bad to assemble. Took some time but everything lined up really well. I recommend a 5/8" socket wrench though. Will make it a lot easier on you. The hardware was nicely packaged and numbered. Since the directions do not have any words you need to be able to look at a drawing and determine what to do. Seems to be very sturdy too. I did pullups, dips and leg ups and it was very still. Doesn't feel shaky at all. It is a perfect addition for me. I have a small bench, some dumbbells and a treadmill in my dining room and it fits perfectly.

I’d buy it again!!!!

I liked it but I’m a woman and I think that’s why the pads you place your arms to do a hanging leg raise (to work your core) were too far apart making it awkwardly uncomfortable to stay up, and this was my favorite thing to do at the gym but the gyms was not as widely placed. I gave it to my son and he loves it! I would definitely recommend!

Power Tower

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a well built and heavy duty piece of exercise equipment that uses your body weight as resistance. I was somewhat surprised that, although it includes an owner's and an assembly manual, I did not find literature on how to use the apparatus. Luckily, I googled it, and push-ups on the lower struts and mid arm bars, leg lifts on the mid pads and pull-ups on the upper bar were demonstrated. I was disappointed that there are no adjustments available which will negatively impact some folks. Be aware that this equipment stands over 7 feet tall and will need additional headroom to do pull-ups.

Well constructed designed to be used!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been a fitness buff my entire adult life and have owned several chin-up support systems. This Power Tower is exactly what I've been needing! This took me around an hour to assemble and a 16mm socket wrench is VERY handy! All of the joints go together well and I am very impressed by the stiffness of the design. The push up bars are a perfect diameter and have a texture so your hands don't slip. The pads on the chin-up bar are firm enough to allow a good grip without being too soft or spongy. The top feature for me, is the design of the chin-up bar with the bends that allow you to choose hand angles with a close or wide grip. I am impressed in every way, BUT, as with lots of gym equipment, the plastic end covers on the bottom struts fall off easily if the unit is moved. I wish they would be glued or clipped in place as I see them disappearing some day. I definitely recommend the Marcy Power Tower!!!!

Something you would find at the gym.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Two things, when you receive it, lay the box down, then open. Not only is there probably 62 pieces total, but you will also need help at a certain time to put it together. I also didn't realize how unworked my core really is. I've played with this a the gym, but boy, just being able to get on it and doing a few crunches, really tells you how much you really need this. I have now incorporated this into my workout routine. I love it, you will to, it is well made, weights about 75-80 lbs when fully completed. It is built strong, tall and stable. Try it.
