Buns taste okay but they BREAK APART often!

The only positive is texture and taste. 80%+ of the bun/bread is on one side which means that for most hot dogs, especially larger options, the bun falls apart almost every time! Regular bread or even cheaper options at a dollar store would work better than these hot dog buns. Won't ever buy again!

Defective Sara Lee Buns

Bought these recently and it seems like when they cut them they were cut wrong so some of the bun was missing. I thought it may be a fluke so I bought them again about a month later. Still same same messed up buns. Not sure if it's the same supply or what. But they've always good prior. I'm going to try something other than these now.

Not split properly

These are good and basic, but the last time I bought some they were not split properly. They were quite off-center which left only a thin layer of bread on side of the bun, and it was nearly impossible to use them. I ended up having to hand cut most of them and hope my guests didn't notice the extra slice.

POOR QUALITY CONTROL!!!

I purchase 40 - 48 of the 16 pack buns every week and end up returning 4 - 5 full 16 packs the following week. Most of the time the issue is they are split completely in half making them useless. Other times I have gotten then completely saturated in four, sliced in the wrong location or not at all, and also burt black on the bottom. I hate returning items but this has gotten to be so constant that it is ridiculous and I refuse to let this be a loss on my end. I now avoid this particular brand of buns.

Do not buy these

Worst quality control ever. The slits, where the hot dog should lie, are cut so close to the bottom of the bun and not deep enough to fit the hotdog. Try and cut it further and it falls apart. What a waste of money. And I thought Sara Lee would be good.

Not a good product in my opinion

The buns are together in the package and when you go to get them apart in a lot of cases they tear coming apart and have to throw one away. They have a yellow tint to them in color. To compound the problem the last time I got them and called for pick up they stacked them three high in buggy and they were completely flat and stuck to package making them hard to get out of package because they were stuck to the plastic on the inside and hard to separate the bun where it is sliced.

Slicer Malfunction

This is the last time we will buy these buns. Our church gives out meals every Monday for anyone who shows up and this week it was 2 hot dogs and other items. We fix 60 meals, so that was 120 hot dogs that had to go into 120 buns. About 4 of the 16 buns in each package was correctly sliced. Others were barely sliced and some missed the middle so there wasn't much bun on one side to hold a hot dog. There were random chunks of bread stuck between some of the buns. Quality control is not part of the baking process for these buns.

Bad quality

We run a concession stand during the spring and summer months. The quality of the Sara Lee hotdog buns has gone down over the years, they break apart soon as open them to put a hotdog or hotlink inside. Last year we switched to HomePride but those are only sold at a certain Sams Club where I live and its not the one closest to me. Might start ordering them online and having delivered because Sara Lee needs to do better quality control.

Changed Recipe

These were my go-to buns for years. You throw them in the microwave for a few seconds per bun and a spritz of water. You get ballpark quality buns that stay together. The new recipe crumbles and breaks apart whether they are heated or straight from the package.

Hot Dog Rolls

The Sara Lee hot dog buns are not sliced in the center of the bun. They are way off center which makes it nearly impossible to put a Weiner and fixings in it. I have reported this several times and nothing has ever been done. Maybe you should try another brand. Thank you for your consideration.
