Best tasted mangoes

The growers or distributors must have used something to hasten the ripening bec they look perfectly ripe on the outside but sour on the inside. This happens with chemically ripened mangoes. Naturally ripened mangoes get dark spots on the outside as they ripen. These look too perfect. I should known.

I have purchased the manila mangos at various local markets. These are the best by far. They are ripe and sweet. The price is fair. At first glance the price is higher than at the other area stores; however, there are more ripe mangos in the Sam's box. So, it ends up a better deal as you enjoy more mangos without a sour face :)

I love mangos, but finding ones that actually ripen up here in northern Wisconsin is tough. I buy these at Sam's whenever I see them and always end up with sweet, soft, ripe, juicy, buttery mangos. Can you tell I like them? YUM! I live alone, so once in a while I wind up with one or two that get too ripe. I just skin them and puree the fruit, then freeze it. Once I have enough I thaw it, mix in a little sugar, tequila, lemon juice and water and make sorbet.

Sweet and delicious
