The apples were a bit tasteless. Not much flavor or sweetness. I was very disappointed.

Gala Apples

I bought these apples for several years and they were always very good. Last fall I got them and they were mealy. 3 times in a row and the quality was bad. So I gave it about 6 months and bought them again a few days ago. The same thing. I will not buy them again.

I don’t know if this batch just wasn’t very fresh, or the person who picked them out grabbed a bad bag (used club pick-up)...but they didn’t taste very fresh and had big brown spots all over them. My son even noticed they didn’t taste right and we always buy Gala apples.

The apples were actually Fuji organic. These were expensive, nearly $10.00. When I got them home and put them in the refrigerator I found several with bad bruising and worm holes. Even though the bag is see through celophane, and I tried to scrutinize the apples as best I could there are still areas on the bag that hide the apple. I am very unhappy with this purchase and this is the last bag of Fujis I plan on purchasing at Sam's as this is a recurring problem. I'll eat them all probably but I just expect better than this.

Someone brought these to work and I had one and honestly, it was one of the best apples I've ever had. I like apples, but they never been a big deal for me, but these were different. I inquired and was told that they were purchased from Sam's. I have been buying them every since. They are out on a regular basis, which speaks to how good they are. Just the right amount of firmness, sweet and juicy.

Sweet tangy goodness straight from the tree to me. Our family loves these apples. They are so versatile. They have a nice crunch and hold up really well. I also love to cook with them and make an apple spice cake with them. That’s very good. I mean they say an apple a day keeps the doctor away but they never said it couldn’t be in cake :-)
