I see people have given this a five.  I have no earthly idea why.  It is not quality.  If it had a proper back it might pass as decent.  Will not order again.  If I could get my money back that would be great.

This beautiful bookcase is handcrafted using a solid wood laminated particleboard.

A lot cheaper than I expected.  Backing is cardboard held together by tape.  Instructions were not great.  Wound up taking things apart a couple of times when I had put them together incorrectly - also causing a few unwanted holes in the top shelf.  I would not buy again.

This is the second unit I have purchased. Though the core of the unit is not solid oak the veneer is and the whole unit looks and feels more expensive than it is. The backing board is solid oak veneer and it is screwed onto the back (not nailed), making for a very sturdy bookcase.
