I wish I had read the reviews first. I will be calling tomorrow to return it during my grocery pickup. It's temperamental. The suction is lackluster at best. The broken vacuum I replaced still had better suction. Now I will say, it works AMAZING on floors! I just wish it did the same for carpet. It picked up a little dust, but that was it. I am very disappointed in this vacuum and shark. I dont think I will buy another.

approx 3-4 months of OCD cleaning and the switch caught fire. Otherwise was a good vacuum up until then. Won't buy another one due to switch issue, would be afraid if I had to lay it down to walk away or pull something out to vacuum behind and it caught fire again.

I had a previous version of this vacuum that I loved (decided to let my son keep it), so I had to try this one. Wow! It exceeded my expectation. LIGHTS: Just when I didn't think I needed lights on a vacuum, I'm sure I can't live without them now. I was able to see dirt/dog hair on the wooden floor which also reveals how WELL this vacuum does picking up that dirt. And there is a light on the main base too! POWERHEAD: A bit smaller with a lower profile (fits under even more furniture) than my previous model. I suspect because this new one doesn't have the power drive when using the faster speed for high-pile carpets. SUCTION: Superior!! I can see it snagging dust bunnies nearly 3+ inches away on a bare floor. It gets dirt right up to the baseboards. Because the suction is so strong, vacuuming high pile carpets for an extended period of time would be quite tiresome. It did an amazing job on my 5x7' loose shag at the front door. When vacuuming a dust 'film' on bare floors (like under a desk or bed), it pulled up ALL that dust leaving it 100% dust-free. Usually I had to go back and wipe that dust film. Not any more! ROLLER: Self-cleaning that works like magic! I am in love with this feature. No more cleaning the roller after cleaning the house. I have 1" to 12" hair to vacuum up in this house - it works! Next I will see how well it does self-cleaning with threads in my sewing room. ATTACHMENTS: It only had two attachments (short crevice and brush) which I think will be sufficient. I feared I might miss the previous bare floor attachment that had a cotton pad (get any hair/dust missed), but this model far exceeding the need for one. SOUND: This thing purrs. Not saying it is super quiet, but a comfortable sound level. I really noticed the wheels are much better on this model. They run smooth and quiet over wooden floors and laminate. DIRT CUP: The design is a bit different than previous model I had, but the cup is totally removable. Love this! I can pop it off and take it to the trash instead of the entire base/head of the vacuum. The plastic is a bit thinner but sturdy; I feel like I should handle it with care just in case. OVERALL: The vacuum felt comfortable in either one of my hands immediately. The weight is balanced perfectly. I was able to turn, rotate, and use it without any discomfort (previous model would make my weak elbow ache). This review is after the first 30-minute period of use after unboxing it today.

Before this vacuum, I had so much trouble with vacuuming my long hair, they would keep getting all tangled up into the rollers. This one has an amazing design in which the hair would go straight to the receptacle, all the hair would just end up wound around a cone shape filter. The minor inconvenience is that the receptacle is kind of small. you will need to empty it more often than other bigger vacuums, but I'm more than willing to do that if it means cleaning up all the hair stuck in the carpet. Another thing to point out is that the vacuum does not stay upright, you will need to lean it against the wall when not using it.

I bought this a week use this every day. We have a long hair German Shepherd and a Boston Terrier. I love the lightness of the vacuum and that I can quickly detach to get behind Furniture. My only issue is I still have to clean the beater bar after every use like every other vacuum I've owned. It doesn't self clean clean as it advertise. Other then that I love the vacuum.
