Good for a stick vacuum
I have had this now for about 6 weeks. Here are the pros and cons. Pros: Does not collect hair in the brush. This was my main reason for the purchase since I have an ever shedding German Shepherd and long hair of my own that does loose my 100 hairs per day. Great reach up to ceiling and in corners when the power head is removed. Cons: Small power head, not the generous 10-12 inches of a regular upright Cord too short. My upright which is also a shark has a 30 ft. cord I never need to move the plug. less power than the upright Although I can reach under chairs which is nice I can't reach under several of my buffets and consoles. The head constantly get stuck in the upright lock position and I have to constantly hit with my foot to unlock. this is very annoying. It is a little heavy for using over say 20 minutes. I would have returned if I had a bigger house Small dust cup. This is really a touch up vacuum.
love the Sharks
As an avid Shark Rocket owner, I had to have this newest one due to having shedding critters, dog and two cats as well as me having long hair. YES, the roller is self-cleaning which is amazing and gets rid of that horrible job of untangling hair. I also find the suction to be better along edges - another plus. Being elderly the light weight is a major feature along with the swivel of the head. I do love the "Rockets"and keep buying the newest and passing down the earlier models as they don't seem to wear out. One Con - they shortened the cord by one wrap. Darn, now I have to move the plug to finish.
Returning this item. This was an addition to my cannister vacuum. I read lot of reviews and decided to get this instead of a cordless one, because lots of users say cordless is not powerful compared to corded. But I am not happy with the suction, neither my kids or husband. I would rather get a cordless one.
great vacuum for hair
This vacuum is fabulous! The hair zero M thing is incredible! It sucks up so much stuff and the hair does not stick around the roller! It does collect some hair before sending it to the collection bin, but no more cutting hair off the roller. This is truly a game changer for me! I have 2 Dysons and this is better than the upright and canister Dyson. I vacuumed with the Dyson and then the shark. Both times the shark still got a lot more dirt and hair!I got one for my son and both daughters will be getting one for Christmas! I know they will love the zero M no hair to cut off the roller! I am a real satisfied purchaser of the shark zero m vacuum. The bin is small so you have to empty more often, but better than leaving the dirt behind!
Very good vacuum - especially for the price
I purchased this vacuum when it was on special at Sam's Club. It's well worth the money - with or without the sale price! (Sam's routinely sells the vac for $30-$40 less than an on-line competitor; Sam's special price was an additional $30 less.) The vac is great on suctioning dog hair and pulls lots of dirt as well (considerably more than my other vacuum)! 'Light weight, easy to carry and maneuver. 'Debris bin is a good size/capacity and empties and reattaches easily. 'Hand held component removes easily also. - The only downside is that the vacuum does not stand up well on its own-it's 'back heavy' at the mechanism/motor. The vac. is designed to store by hanging from a hook-type device (included). However, I choose to store it in a closet instead and the vac. subsequently has to be propped up to stand. In addition, give the 'back heavy' nature, it does not stand easily during cleaning when 'have to pause, move something and/or empty the bin. I see this as the only downside.
Great suction,excellent performance.j
Just bought this to replace a shark that's over 10 years old.Sharks are the only vacs I will purchase because you get great performance at a reasonable price.I own 3 Sharks because I live in a home with 3 floors so I have one for each level of my home.Have even recommended to family members and other people and they all bought them and are very pleased with them.Bottom line their a vac they suck dirt they work.
Great replacement for a manual carpet sweeper.
I bought this mainly for the benefit of the hair not getting caught in the roller brush. So far, that seems to work very well. I was using a manual carpet sweeper, which I loved for the convenience, but it was useless for long hair. I finally gave up on it and went looking for something else lightweight. Then a miracle happened and I found this vacuum that cleans hair from the brush, so, for my purposes, it is great, as it doesn't take much to compare to a non-electric carpet sweeper. As for a vacuum, it has almost no suction. I had a hard time getting it to pick up a slip of paper. I don't think I've ever had a vacuum that had such poor suction ability. Second, it gets nothing around the edges which is probably because of the poor suction ability. I tried to get a little piece of stuffed animal stuffing that was about an inch away from the edge and I could not get it to pick it up no matter how much maneuvering I tried. This vacuum is not cheap. I paid about the same for my really awesome main vacuum that has every attachment and suction power that practically pulls the carpet staples up so I believe this vacuum is way overpriced. I would have given it five stars if it was more around what it should cost which would be maybe $90. Anyway, I'll keep it because it is lightweight and works well for my purposes but if you are looking for an actual vacuum look elsewhere. This is mainly for small messes here and there.
No more cleaning the hair out of brushroller
Amazing! This truly does what it says it will do. It does actually self-clean the roller of dog fur & hair. I have another Shark Rocket & I would spend 20 minutes or more disassembling the roller to clean the dog fur & my long hair off of the roller after vacuuming. I saw this at Sam's Club & thought - Wow, will this really not get wound up with hair & fur?? Well, it works just like it advertises! I am so happy to have this low maintenance vacuum that does a fine job. I highly recommend this variety of Shark Rocket.
Shark Zero-M Vacuum
My favorite vacuum with 2 kids (soon to be 3) and 2 hairy dogs! Easy to maintain and not heavy! I love it being corded cause it's full power the entire time I'm cleaning! The hose attachment makes cleaning all the vents and ceiling fans easy, and the short handle version helps me clean my stairs super easy and fast too! The cord is extra long, which for me is amazing! I plug into the hallway outlet and it reaches most of my upstairs bedrooms and entire open living area! Amazing! Highly reccomend! You can dump the canister into the trash, rinse the canister out, air dry or rag dry, and the filters can be rinsed under the water. Such a cinch and cheap to maintain. The cleaner head at the bottom SELF CLEANS! I mean come on, that alone, SOLD! Its awesome!
Not as good as expected
This is my 4th Shark Vacuum and least favorite out of the 4. The last shark I purchased was simaler to this one but a power-head unit and I loved everything about it except the NON-self cleaning brush roll so decided to give the rocket a try. The brush roll works as advertised, I've yet had to clean any hair off the brush roll with 2 dogs and 1 cat however, it does not pick up half as good as my power-head unit and the head is half the size so the time for cleaning a room is doubled. It makes a good back up but for a main cleaner, Im very disappointed especially for $170.
