I bought this vacuum a month ago. Nowhere on the product box or description does it indicate that it will NOT stand upright alone. You have to lean it up against something or else it will tip over EVERYTIME. This is a serious product design flaw and Shark should indicate this on their product labeling. I've contacted customer service several times to which they've been unhelpful.

Ive had this vacuum almost 10mths and it seems after 7mths is when we started having problems with it. It shuts off, gets really hot, the too/handle area is where all the weight is, gets full and doesnt hold much so you have to empty it after a few minutes, havent had good results when trying to use it has a small hand held or not good on corners/crevices. Im returning it and going back to my old fashion bulky, not a good experience for a first time shark user. A few customers warned me when I was putting it in my cart, sorry shark I gave you a chance.

Just purchase one a few days ago and return it already, due to so little if any suction from the base. Maybe it was just a bad apple. I purchase another one, before leaving the store we gave it a test run... same thing no suction from the base. Roller turns but unable to feel any suction. We called into the 800 # provided by the manual...not helpful due to language differences. I REALLY LIKE THIS VACUUM, ESPECIALLY THE SIZE AND LIGHT WEIGHT. WHY IS THERE VERY,VERY LITTLE SUCTION? I'M NOT TRYING TO KNOCK THE SHARK NAME. FRIENDS & FAMILY MEMBERS LOVE THEM. I can not say yes to the next question YES, yet.

Bought this specifically for the carpeted bedrooms, because the power head on my canister vac died, as did its replacement, and the upright I bought was too bulky to go under things. This Shark is fine for cleaning my only two low-nap carpeted rooms. My chief requirement was that it reach completely under the bed and dressers and that it does an adequate job along the edges. Ticked both those boxes. The dust cup is small and has to be emptied after each room. I didn't use it to dust (I use Swiffer cloths for that), but I think it'd be a little awkward to dust with. There's also no hose attachment as shown in the photo. It's top heavy, but I just leaned it again the wall while I shook out the cord, and it stood up fine. The cord is plenty long. I had to pull one hair off the roller, so presumably the roller does a good job of keeping the hair off. Overall, good little stick vac for a couple rooms, but I wouldn't want to clean an entire house with it.

Motor head very manuverable under and around furniture. Quick and easy to get out and store. Yes, it has to be set down as it won't stand on its own, but just know that when you buy it and you will be fine. As far as storing, you have to separate the top and rest it on the base each time, or just install the hanging mount if you'd prefer. The only complaint I really have about this vacuum is that it will not pick up crumbs, or anything, on a hard floor using a backward motion. That is, it only picks up dirt, crumbs, etc if you are pushing/moving the brush head forward. This gets annoying, and I will likely opt for a better performing, yet more expensive, Dyson stick vacuum next time. However, for the $, a good buy. I would recommend to someone wants a good vacuum for between $100-150. This is the best middle of the road or budget vacuum in my opinion.
