Great Tire

I have a 2008 Saturn Outlook. I replaced the oem tires with the LTX M/S2. The difference is night and day. Snow and wet road traction is incredible. The oem tire would just spin in the snow at a stop, and break traction on wet roads when starting from a stop. The ride is 100% better, and 100% quieter. I could not be happier.

worth the wait

I waited for a long time to get my first set of Michelin tires.i did a lot of research(consumer report, reviews) to make sure they(tires) were what they(Michelin) said they were.to my surprise they are everything they were marketed to be and more.i've got 30000 miles on them and they are as good now as they were new.smooth, quiet ride.great traction in winter, and handling is great.wearing very good.i rotate every 6-8000 miles and they are flat and smooth across the tread.not a cheap tire but more than worth the price.would recommend to anyone who is looking for more than just a tire.

The PERFECT SUV/Truck Tire!

This is my 6th set of Michelin LTX M/S tires on 3 different SUVs over 12 years; the last two sets have been M/S2 version. I drive a lot of miles in all conditions including 6000+ mile road trips. We're in Colorado and need performance onroad and offroad, these handle everything a stock 4Runner and Tahoe will handle in terms of 4-Wheeling forest service roads (not the nice ones either) and jeep trails. We've gone 4-Wheeling with our church's jeep club and been able to tackle everything on 'stock+' trails. Winter performance is exceptional on snow and ice conditions. Gas mileage is very good, better than comparable tires from other manufacturers. Best yet is the mileage we get out of them; on 4Runners ('96 and '03) I easily get 65,000 and just replaced my last set at 75,000 for winter driving (not yet to the wear indicators). Never had a flat, and the tires wear very evenly assuming your vehicle is well maintained. On my heavier 2002 Tahoe, the LTX M/S has worn much better than other name brand LT tires. I highly recommend to all, these are well worth the price for performance.

My second set of Michelin's

I inherited a car from Mom's Estate that had a set of Michelin Tires. She always bought Michelin's. When it came time to buy another set for my 2001 GMC Sierra, I looked at, and priced several "Well-Known" brands. Thinking about how much I liked the ride of the tires on Mom's car, it just made sense to spend an extra $400.00 for a better set of tires. I have absolutely NO regrets. The tires are quiet, and give excellent traction.

Great tire!

I bought these for my wife's Suburban after previously having a set on a Seqouia. I don't think I'll ever buy another brand again. They ride smooth and road noise is minimal. They do well in the snow and slush of Northern Indiana and seem to be wearing well. They are a little more expensive than most, but you definitely get what you pay for!

81K miles from LTX M/S2 tires

I've had LTX M/S2 tires on my 2003 Suburban for five years. After over 81,000 miles, I've finally replaced them with new a new set of Michelin Defenders. My local tire shop rotated them with every oil change (for free!) and I've never had a problem with them. They wear evenly, and have never had any air loss, leaks or punctures. My mechanic said that I still had enough tread left on the old tires to pass the state inspection, but opted on the side of safety. Who knows how many miles they could have gone. Some people may balk at the cost, but you get what you pay for. I highly recommend this tire for trucks & SUV's.

Good So Far

Replaced a set of LTX A/T's ~ 1600 Km ago. The A/T's had been a great tire, but were pretty beat up after a Canadian arctic trip and over 2000 Km of gravel. I elected to return to an LTX as I rarely need the A/T benefit & saw a ~5% fuel economy hit with the A/T's. So far usage has been about 50/50 gravel/paved Hwy. On the Hwy they are good w/ low noise, better gas mileage than the A/T's, good response & track well in heavy rain. On the gravel (logging roads in BC) they are also good & manage areas where the surface is soft well. The only mild complaint is they are more prone than the A/T's to trapping gravel in the treads

Excellent Truck Tires

I have these tires on a 2002 Crew Cab 4x4 with a Duramax, Short Bed, 166k miles. The tires have improved on the older LTX M/S side walls. The sidewalls are stiffer and do not allow loads and trailers to push the vehicle sideways. Excellent control downhill with loads in turns. The tires are pretty quiet on the highway and have a good grip on the road, on and off road.

BEST tires, BEST value!

We have been installing these tires on our fleet of full size cargo vans and trucks for the last few years and have been extremely satisfied with the results. Our vehicles are loaded with a lot of equipment and are driven approximately 40k per year. These tires hold up better than any other brand/model we've tried and provide a quiet, smooth ride. These are the only tires we've found with a 70k warranty that actually hold up to the stated term. We have not discovered any negative aspects to these tires. They are great for street and highway use but don't have aggressive enough tread for off-road use so that may be considered a negative by some.

Traction Lacking

Super quiet on pavement and great handling. But get them in mud or snow and it's a different story. Really disappointed in Michelin's claims about traction. Probably the worst snow traction I've ever experienced, especially in a premium tire. I run them on a 4x4 pickup and at times all wheels engaged is not enough to navigate some normal Seattle streets. Spent two hours last week digging out from some soft, wet ground they failed to drive thru. Swapping them out for a competitor's true M/S tire.
