I Would Never Buy This Tire Again!

I am a little surprised on the high rating and positive reviews. My experience was a bad one. I bought the tires 6/03/2011 at 42,683 miles they are complete garbage at now 7/1/2013 at 77,407 miles. I contacted a dealer who contacted a rep who said they would prorate me back about about 3% of what I paid. I or my children or my grandchildren will never buy Michelin again. And I plan on finding others who have got burned on these tires and telling other about these tires which seem defective to me.

Michelin , A name you can trust!!

After reading and searching reviews on several brands of tires over several months, I decided on the Michelin LTX M/S2. I remember my very first vehicle had Michelins on it, and the quality and reliability hasn't changed. It was higher priced, but I don't regret making the decision. My wife's minivan is on the second set of Michelins already , and if she is happy , I'm happy !!

Best Tires on the Road!

I have used Michelin tires forever and have never been disappointed. I would not even consider trying any other brand. The ride is smooth, traction great for all types of weather and they last longer than anything else I have ever used in the past. Even though the price is a little more, they are well worth the difference. You won't be disappointed!

Great Ride

I have had the Michelin LTX ms2 on my 2006 Nissan Armoda for 18 months and 20,000 miles. I just returned from a 2000 mile trip and could not have been happier with the smooth ride. After 20,000 miles it appears I will get a lot of miles from this set of tires.

Mixed Bag

I bought these to replace some aging A/T tires (different brand) on my full-sized van. The old tires had been great, but did not have the tread depth to survive another Michigan winter. The reviews looked good on the MS2 tires, and they came highly recommended. I have had Michelin tires on other cars, and know to trust the name. The pros: 1. The MS2 is a highway tire, and much quieter than the A/T tires that I had previously. 2. The tread pattern is deep, and the siping provides excellent traction in snowy/icy conditions. Overall, I'm very impressed with the traction. Straight-line braking is good. 3. The ride around town is comfortable. The cons: 1. Even when properly inflated, these tires do not provide good handling at highway speeds. The old tires that I had previously gave a much more crisp steering response. My vehicle is very large, and I don't expect it to corner like a sports car, but the MS2's make me feel like I'm piloting a large boat, when compared with the ride and handling with my old tires. There are significant delays in steering response, and "wallow" in the back end of the van, even under gentle cornering and lane changes on dry roads. I have to anticipate curves on the highway and turn into them earlier than before in order to maintain good lane position. Even when not towing a trailer, cross-winds can be a bit scary, whereas with the previous tires I had, wind gusts were just a minor annoyance. 2. My fuel economy has been down since I had these tires put on. I can't say for sure that it's due to the tires, and it's only down by 1-2mpg, but that is a significant percentage when the overall fuel economy average for this large vehicle is less than 15mpg. Conclusion: If I had known about the 30-day satisfaction guarantee on these tires, I would have chosen to swap them for a different brand. I'm not an expert, but my guess is that the sidewalls are just not stiff enough to provide confident handling on the highway.

Wow, ride and MPG improvement!

I put four new LTX MS2 tires, in size 245/75 R16 on my '05 2wd 1500 5.3 V8 Chevrolet Suburban last summer. The improvement in ride and fuel economy was immediate. I am not lying, or exaggerating when I say, at 60 mph, on flat freeway with the cruise control on, A/C on, we average 27 mpg. Simple fact. Tested again and again, and again today. Onboard computer and calculated at the pump. Great tire. Highly recommended.

Great tire!!

Purchased a set Michelin LTX M/S2's for my 2000 Chevy Silverado Xtended cab pickup and experienced better riding and handling, as well as, a better sense of security. I liked the LTX's so much I put a set of Michelins on my wife's Subaru Forester. I have been driving and purchasing tires for 50+ years and have found that Michelins tires are a good value.

LTX M/S2 on 2006 F-150

Replaced original tires and couldn't be happier. I live in Central Florida which receives heavy rains in a short period of time. I got my first test on my way home after installation. I had no spinning of tires (oils on road), braking was excellent, steering was crisp and absolutely no feel of hydroplaning. I can't give any comments on long term usage, off-road or even fuel mileage since they've been on my truck less than 12 hours but Michelin got it right with this tire!

Also disappointed

I bought a set of these tires about a year ago. They claimed this new series was far better than the previous generation. The tread wear is way over rated. I doubt this set will see the 60000 miles the previous set of LTX tires saw. Lost me as a customer.

I have owned many tires ...

I have owned many tires in my almost 65 years and none have ever matched Michelin. Recently my wife and I retired and drove 7200 miles over a 48 day period, from Arizona to Connecticut south to Florida and back to Tucson AZ. The performed more than excellent. On a freeway in Connecticut we hit a piece of 4 in channel steel. We checked the tires and there appeared to be no damage. We contintued our trip without any problems. When we arrive home it was time for another tire rotation and we found a deep cut in the tread. The dealer replaced the tire and told me we made it because we were on Michelin tires, and that is why I will alway buy youre tires.
