The price is fair price and one of the reasons we chose it is because there are no tree nuts or sesame allergies with this product. The ingredients are decent, there is no corn syrup, HFCS, or -oses, but we all wished the ingredients were less processed and non-GMO.

The filling was light and smooth, with a nice lemon flavor and not overly sweet. In fact, one of the best things about all of the pastries was that they were rich, but not overly sugary sweet. We found the chocolate banana swirls and berry swirls to be very similar. They seemed like the same pound cake recipe, just with different additions. They were good, but more ordinary-- more the dunk-in-your-coffee kind of cake. The iced apple strudels had a good flavor. The apple flavor was throughout the pastry, not really a gooey filling. The crumb cakes were excellent. The size of the cakes was very handy and would make them perfect for an office or group setting. These also would be a good meeting room choice because none of the cakes was very messy to eat. While a person at a meeting probably would eat one, in my house they tend to go two at a time! They were very fresh and light in taste, much better than prepackaged baked goods. I would buy them for an event without hesitation, especially the lemon velvet! I feel confident that bringing these to the workplace would make you everyone's favorite co-worker, for the day at least.

I recently tried the breakfast pastries variety pack from Sam’s Club, which includes chocolate banana swirls, lemon velvet cake, iced apple strudels, cinnamon crumb cakes, and very berry swirl. I was especially excited about the iced apple strudels, but they turned out to be the biggest letdown. The apple flavor was faint, there was barely any cinnamon, and, honestly, they seemed a bit underbaked—like something you’d expect from a vending machine, not a bakery. I might even try popping them under the broiler next time to see if a little extra crisp and golden brown color helps! The other pastries in the pack were enjoyable. The flavors weren’t super intense, but they were still tasty, and the cake loafs, in particular, were impressively moist. Portion sizes are spot on; they’re filling without making you feel like you’ve overdone it. Although these are marketed as breakfast pastries, I’d say they’d work just as well as an afternoon snack or dessert. Overall, I’d think about buying this variety pack again, but only if the iced apple strudels get an upgrade. With some tweaks, these could become a regular favorite!

If having a party or supplying breakfast pastries for the office, this would be a great choice. The size of each pastry is perfect for a group gathering; they can be handheld - not too small or too large- just right! Overall, my family and I found the pastries very moist. It seemed the pastries (except the iced apple strudel) used the same type of batter with different toppings to add specific flavors. The chocolate banana swirl had a more "spongy" texture and the banana flavoring was a little overpowering; the chocolate swirl was on top of the pastry and added too little taste of chocolate. (My daughter who loves banana bread thought this was her favorite.) The lemon velvet cake was absolutely perfect. It had just enough lemon flavoring as a topping with the moist cake texture which created a very good pastry! The cinnamon crumb cake is a very good coffee pastry. There were small chunks of cinnamon on top of each pastry with just the right amount of sweetness. With the moistness of the cake, a good choice. The very berry swirl was not very "berry." The cake was moist but there wasn't enough swirl to add the right amount of berry flavor to the pastry. The iced apple strudel had a dry texture, much like you would expect from a strudel. There wasn't enough apple filling which made the strudel even drier. There wasn't very much "icing" either, which didn't help.

I asked those at the party what they thought of the different pastries as I wanted to leave a thorough review. The lemon iced cake received the most positive feedback. Everyone that ate that one really enjoyed it and commented on the icing and the cake flavor. I found the cake moist and the lemon flavor was not too sour. The second favorite flavor was the banana chocolate. I enjoyed this one as well, though not as much as the lemon iced. The banana was not overly artificial but the chocolate didn't come through as well as I would have hoped. The apple strudel and cinnamon crumble were both enjoyed and tied for third-best feedback. The strudel had good flavor but commenters said it was a bit doughy. The strudel was a bit dense but still had good flavor. Last place for most enjoyed was the very berry. It was a bit too sweet and artificial-testing for many people. Overall, this is a good product for the price. No one absolutely hated any item - just some commented that the pastry they tried was just okay and not great. But for a little over $20 it's hard to find a comparable product for a comparable value. Definitely sample the lemon iced if you buy a tray - it is a standout.

I personally loved the lemon velvet and the cinnamon. My wife loved all of them as did my extended family and friends. Not a single person had any negative feedback about them. My wife is longing for more since they are now all gone. Because of the size of the pack I probably won't buy on a regular basis but for a special occasion or a larger group these would always be a huge hit with the taste and variety to chose from.

They honestly didn't taste like breakfast pastries to me but more like small portions of cake. My favorite is the crumb cake which was delicious. The apple choice tasted like a cross between apple pie and apple strudel. In any case it would be greatly improved if it had more apple filling. These cakes would work for dessert at a fancy luncheon or served with coffee or tea in the afternoon. Would only consider purchasing if I had a fairly large crowd to feed.

The assortment included five flavors- banana chocolate, berry swirl, lemon, cinnamon, and apple. I tried the lemon and the berry and liked both, but lemon was my favorite. It seemed to be a favorite with our class, too. I shared the leftovers with family members who enjoyed all the flavors. I would recommend this assortment for a larger group since there were 40 in the container. They were fresh and in excellent condition when I bought them and transported well.

I replaced the packaging with a lovely serving dish and brought them to my Bible Study class for breakfast on Sunday morning. Gone in a flash! The lemon-flavored goodies were moist, lemony, and delicious. All of the selections are tasty, never dry with no artificial after-taste. I will definitely repeat the purchase. The Members Mark brand has never disappointed me! Way to Go, Sam's!

We especially enjoyed the lemon cream cake, and the cinnamon swirl. However, all are great and we recommend them highly for breakfast OR dessert after dinner.
