Frustrating start with new Cyclone V10

It was a disappointing start with my new Cyclone V10. The main unit was faulty so had to return it for another. With the new one, I couldn't get the canister to open to empty. Had to use a screwdriver to open the clasp, empty the canister, mess around a bit with it, then forcefully press the red clasp and it finally released and opened the canister. Whew! Now I'm finally able to use it, and being my first cordless stick vacuum, I love the ease of moving around with it, no cord or canister to deal with. My biggest complaint, like others, is the weight of the main unit. I have to give my hand a break every few minutes. Very heavy.

Always wanted a cordless

I bought this about 4 weeks ago. Wavered better this cordless and another brand but made the decision to take a chance. I made a mistake. They advertise a battery time per use. I'm not even lucky enough to get 7 minutes before I have NO power available! 7 minutes will not get through 11/2 bedrooms. What's the point?

WE purchased the Dyson V10, got it home charged it's battery. on our first use it seem to work, well very good suction, light weight, however aft 30 mins it was completely dead, charged it again, 20 minutes later it died again. the 90 minute advertised run time doesn't work. returned it to the store where we purchased it.

This is the first time I've bought a Dyson vacuum. First I bought a cheaper competitor's model and it was a huge disappointment. I read reviews and spoke with a few friends who owned a Dyson. I bought it mainly to vacuum steps and hard to reach areas but after one use I decided to use it everywhere! It is amazing. It picked up all the dog hair and dirt I didn't even notice in my carpets. I'm going to buy another as a gift for my son who mentioned he needed a new vacuum that handles the dog hair. You will love this vacuum cleaner.

Battery life is why this has only 3 stars.

The batter charge was noted as drawback for this item and it sure is. Once charged, it only last for maybe 20 minutes. The site said it would last for an hour but it does not. It is always fully charged when I use it and am disappointed with the battery life. I love it, just wish the charge would last as long as advertised.
