I ordered these pans online, therefore, I was clueless at how heavy they are. I rated it 3 stars due to the weight as I sprained my wrist lifting it out of the box. If you do not have weak wrists or carpal tunnel syndrome, I am sure this is a more than wonderful pan as it looks to be very sturdy and I am sure it would last for years due to the heaviness and it looking to be extremely well made! I unfortunately had to contact Sam's to request a return as it was just to heavy empty and I knew I could not handle it with food in it. You can imagine my surprise when they told me to keep it. I explained to them I would not keep it as I could not use it because it was too heavy. They said to donate it or give it away so that is what I did. I gave the pans away to someone who needed them and said they were not to heavy for them to use. If I had found these pans 20 or 30 years ago, I would have been able to use them and would probably still be using them as they look that well made!

I bought this specifically for popcorn, realizing the pot being flared upwards, leaving a smaller service area on the bottom. (Pat on back). It's perfect. Never had a burnt batch in all I've made. No need to shake. I've had a few of those poppers with the stir handle, they are paper thin. This is a nice heavy gauge. I will agree with the reviewer stating is can be a bit too heavy, but on my gas cooktops, when I've angled the pot right, problem solved.
