Plates are deep to keep liquids from spilling out. Strong to fill up. I wouldn't buy any other kind.

Half of the plates were defective. The plastic film was bubbly and you could peel it off. I threw them in the garbage.

The quality is not as good as it was a few years ago. Some of the plates are cut sloppily. But, they get the job done.
