LOVE THIS :)

I live in zone 9, following directions and staying away from the side walk I sprinkled by hand and I have the most beautiful lawn in the neighborhood. This is now March and I used the lawn food in early December. In addition, I have great success using Scott's Ryegrass mix, mixed with a bare spot mix and then a starter.

Waste of money

I was very disappointed in this produce. I did not see any results. I have always used Scott's products in the past so I was excited to try this product. 3 days came and went and didn't see anything. Its now been 10 days and still nothing. I would recommend saving your money and just using the Scott's turf builder.

We are sorry that you did not receive the fertilizer response that you expected from Scotts Green Max Lawn Food. To get the most out of any fertilizer, we recommend that you maintain your lawn with adequate water and regular feedings. When mowing, remove no more than 1/3 of the grass blade at a time. If repeated applications of fertilizer fail to green the lawn, we recommend that you purchase a soil test kit to check the soil pH. Soil pH should be between 5.5 - 7.5 for lawns. If it is outside this range, add lime (to raise pH) or soil sulfur (to lower pH) at least once a year in spring or fall. A pH imbalance will prevent the lawn from absorbing fertilizer, even if you apply heavily. Also, keep in mind the physical condition of the soil in your yard. Compacted soil, or soil that is very sandy or is mostly clay will not provide an ideal growing condition for turf. Consider core aeration in combination with topdressing. Aeration is the process of poking small holes into the soil using rental power equipment. Topdressing involves applying a thin layer (no more than 1/4 inch thick) of compost or topsoil to the entire surface of the lawn. Scotts Lawn Soil applied in this fashion may greatly improve the turf's response to fertilizer. We want you to be confident in our products. For this reason, we offer a product guarantee to our consumers. At your earliest convenience please contact us to see what can be done. Lawn Food

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This lawn food is great, deep greening in just 3 days. Covers 5,000 square feet. My lawn looks great. This is a 2 in 1 formula, which has the lawn food plus a iron supplement. My grass has never been this green and healthy before.

Excellent Fertilizer

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received my Scott's Max Green and am very pleased with it. It is a little to soon to apply in my region but I know from past performance it will be very good for my yard? I'm looking forward to it greening my Brenda grass up soon!

Awesome fertilizer

Kept my lawn looking like an MLB field for years. I decided to try Vigoro last year to save a measly $5. Worst mistake in my lawn's history. I went back to Green Max this year and my lawn almost looks like a top notch baseball field again. There are still some parts that are recovering from that junk Vigoro makes but that's on me. I recommend this product to friends and customers and all are extremely happy with it. Keeping a great looking lawn in this El Paso, TX, summer heat is easy with Green Max.

Love the results

Used this product with noticable results in just a few days. But, my sidewalk, like many others, did get some stains. Totally my fault for not taking the time to read the label completely. Unlike many other reviews, I take full responsiblity for the results of the sidewalk, not the manufacturer. The good will always outweigh the bad. Thanks for another good product Scotts

Has never failed to produce splendid results.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have been using Scotts quality products for 40 years. The Scotts Super Green Max Lawn Food is a high quality lawn fertilizer that will produce a deeper green lawn which will make it the lawn that we always wanted to have. I have received numerous positive comments from both neighbors and strangers as well. I started working on a golf course when I was age 10 in 1957. It was there that I was introduced to the fine products that Scott produces.

Patience is the key at this time of the year.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Spring has finally sprung, and we are finally beginning to see new growth a few weeks after applying Green Max Lawn Food in our very shady front yard. We had a seasonally late cold snap with several hard freezes, but this week temperatures have been reaching about 80 degrees, and we are seeing signs of new life! Green Max is easy to apply, and the bag is durable for safe storage. No odd odors. Once the ground warmed up, the product seemed to get right to work, so I think it is just a matter of patience at this time of year.

Fantastic product

This is a great product that really did work within days of application. Yes, this product produces rust stains as stated by others but can be avoided if you sweep/blow the fertilizer off of any non-grassed surface. Again, if you don't want the rust stains, you really need to make sure you sweep! As long as you do this, you will be very pleased with your lawn.
