Does Exactly What It Is Supposed To Do

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been having problems with uneven colored grass due to improper watering. I applied the lawn food to the dried areas and in exactly 3 days my lawn was the same shade! It's very easy to apply the food with a manual spreader. It only took 15 minutes to cover the area. Now that my lawn is uniform I will do one more application on the whole lawn to make sure all areas are covered.

Threw bag out : impossible to use

I bought this product in the past and loved the results. This time though the product would not go through my Scott's spreader. The best I can guess perhaps the humidity or water got to it? I tried last weekend to spread it and finally gave up. I poured the product into another bag and left open thinking maybe that would help. Today same result. Maybe it was water damaged? If so the packaging should prevent. Even when I continually stuck my hand in the spreader to get it unstuck, maybe 5 feet it would stick again and nothing coming out. Decided not to lose any more hair and threw it in the garage. Frustrated.

WARNING! Will ruin your driveway and sidewalks

I recently purchased my first home (brand new construction). What an exciting time. That was until I used Scott's Green Max. Although I swept the fertilizer from the side walks and driveway back into the grass, I STILL ended up with terrible staining on my beautiful brand new driveway and sidewalks. It baffles me that there's not a larger warning label about this. Furthermore, how is this product still on the shelf for sale? Scott's, you've honestly diminished the value and curb appeal of my brand new home. I feel sick to my stomach every time I see it. My next step is to try a professional cleaning service. I'm sure it won't be cheap. Please do not use this product. You'll likely regret it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After a snowstorm in Louisiana ! It was time to start my yard and garden. I used the Green MaxLawn Food this year to help wake up my poor yard that survived weather that never happens in 100 years. So far it has been a week, we have have quite a bit of rain and yard is waking up.and seems to be growing and greening nicely.

Used it twice and it worked

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've used this twice so far this season after my yard was pretty much destroyed by some sewer work that was done very early this year. It greened up the areas I used it on. I will be using it on the rest of the yard once the grass starts to come back in

Greens up my lawn the best!

I had great results from this product spring 2014 in central Ohio. I'm going to treat again today, approx 7 weeks after initial treatment. A recommendation if using this product is to ensure an even spread or else you will end up with "camo lawn." It definitely greened and thickened my grass, despite the terrible soil conditions left by the builder of our home. Make sure to sweep up any that spills onto the sidewalks and driveways, as per the instructions. I did not get any staining like some of the reviewers. Thanks for the great product. Also a helpful tip. My local Home Depot had the Scott's snap pack spreader on sale for $10 and any two snap packs for 20% off. I used the weed and feed in early spring and wished they had green max in the snap packs, but did not. I simply cut the top of the snap pack off with a box cutter and refilled with a bag of green max. This worked very well and anyone with the snap pack can simply save an empty package and fill it up with the green max.

This is the stuff to use for greening

I have done my yards for over 20 yrs. This is 1 of only 3 fertilizers I can feel confident in recommending for a fast green yard. I said FAST. not permanent. You will need to use this at a minimum of 3 to 4 times a yr to keep a constant green, however;Scotts has better products for long term green. This is what I use every spring AFTER a second or third mowing and after I put a pre-emergence down in Feb. I can strongly recommend this process for the DFW area in Texas. The high nitrogen will also get your yard growing so if you don't need for it to grow a lot then again, a first spring application makes sense. The iron is nothing but cake coloring for the grass. Seriously, that's what makes this so green, it has more iron in it than Ironite. So if you want to have the greenest yard in the hood and be the first... this is the stuff that will make it happen. BTW,,,, want to impress guests coming over for a weekend or dinner.. you'll get lots of compliments if you put this down 3 to 5 days before.:)

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My lawn is primarily zoysia grass and it has not started to green up in my area, but I will use it after the last frost when it is time for my lawn to show green and start growing. I am anxious to see how it works

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Scotts Green Max Lawn Food is my go to lawn fertilizer. It makes my lawn nice and green so i'm the envy of the neighborhood (or at least I think I am)! Lol! Seriously though, my lawn always looks great and so green. It has to do with all the iron in their fertilizer formula that makes it work so great! I would highly recommend!
