Great Lawn Food

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used this late in the season in a bad area of my lawn. I watered it daily when there was no rain and the results were great. I now have a very green section of grass which was once sparse and dingy!!!

Great Product

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this product for free for my review and I liked this Scotts green max lawn food very well because my lawn didn't seem to look that green and kind of looked unhealthy looking but after putting this on my lawn it seemed to really perk it back up in just a matter of 3 to 4 days. And it seemed to make my lawn look more healthy looking as the days go on and look more green and seemed to help it grow better also. Also I liked the easy to understand directions on the back of the bag, how easy it was to apply to my lawn, and how it seemed to work like it was supposed to on my lawn.

Didn't perform

Unfortunately, this is the first time this product didn't perform well. It's been 2 wks now with plenty of rain and watering and still the grass is struggling to turn green. I have done the same treatments for 3-5 yrs and we always have lush green grass.

We're sorry to read about your disappointment with Scotts Green Max Lawn Food and appreciate your feedback. The most common reason a lawn does not respond to fertilizer is soil pH Soil pH must be between 5.5-7.5 for fertilizer to be absorbed by the grass. We suggest performing a soil pH test. Grass will not respond during periods of dormancy. If the lawn isn't receiving at least 1 inch of water per week then the lawn will not green up as fast. When mowing do not remove more than 1/3 of the grass blade at a time. A stressed lawn will not green up with the application of a fertilizer. We want you to be confident in our products. For this reason, we offer a product guarantee to our consumers. At your earliest convenience, please reach out to us at 888-270-3714 if we can further assist.

Great Product

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This made my grass so green it is greener than all of my neighbors. I used this under two big oak trees that take alot out of my grass but this really helped. In no time it worked. Would recommend this product.

Use with caution

I read all the reviews and decided to use the product. I carefully applied the product with a rotary spreader then immediately blew off walks and drive with a gas powered blower twice. I was absolutely sure I got it all off the concrete. Problem: you cannot see the particles remaining on the concrete and when they get wet they will stain. Solution: I used Iron Out (1 cup to 1 gal. of water). Just douse the area with the solution and the stain will go disappear. I did this procedure the following day after a rain. My grass did turn dark green but not worth all the trouble. Scotts needs to improve this product so the staining will not occur.

Works Well

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I did not have enough Scotts Green MAX for my backyard lawn so I used it only on my front lawn. In some ways this validated how well it works. Front lawn, same kind of grass as my back lawn, is much greener and lush looking as my back lawn. It took about a week to see the difference. Follow directions on the package.

Does not work.

I put Green Max on my lawn about 2 weeks ago. I followed all the instructions, however my lawn did not turn green. I purchase this product last year and was completely happy with it. Not sure if the formula is different or I put it down too early as it is still relatively cold here out East.

I purchased on June 28, 2020. On July 1, 2020, I applied the product following the direction (ensuring the proper dial on my Scotts spreader). It's now July 16, 2020, and see absolutely no results in my lawn. My lawn is still the same green then before I applied the product. In my opinion, the Scotts Weed and Feed works better than this so called GREEN MAX. Not worth the money I spent.

We apologize for this experience with our Scotts Green Max Lawn Food. A continued or general yellow look may indicate a lack of iron. We suggest trying an iron supplement or followup in 6 to 8 weeks with a fertilizer containing iron. We are committed to making this right for you. Please contact us at https://tinyurl.com/y8nvfsca and refer to this review so we can further assist you.

My Yard Loved this

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] If my yard could talk it would let you know how delicious this lawn food was and brag about how green it's grass blades are in the toughest of weather conditions. The lawn was green even through a tough drought season last year.

Green lawn - check

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This product really made my lawn green. I'm not sure if it really made it more healthy or not, but it was definitely much greener than my neighbor's lawn which is well-cared for, too. If you are looking for green, give this a try. I used it as an extra treatment to my normal regimen.
