Best lawn food around!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I tried several brands of lawn food. Desperately attempting to keep a dead patch in my front lawn alive with little success. Not only does this work but it works with 1/4 of the effort of other products! I will never use anything else.

Greener lawn

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I applied this about 2 weeks ago. Last year I tried lime to make the grass greener with poor results. I will say this product after 2 weeks has given my front lawn a noticeably greener look. The application was easy and the results speak for themselves. I am happy with this product.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am so happy with the results of Scott's lawn food! Within days my grass was nice and green! I have used other products on my lawn but they don't compare to Scott's. I always come back to Scott's, they never let me down!

Great Lawn Food

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used this at the end of summer and it lasted into the fall/winter. I got a great green, thick lawn out of it. I think it is better than the regular Turf Builder sold in stores. It must be a different formula to get such good results.

(Almost) Instant Green up

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is the quickest Green up my Lawn has ever had in the early Spring. I have always used Scotts Fertilizer products (especially after using a house brand many years ago and having a negative experience). This product works as advertised.

Beautiful Green Lawn

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Did a great job of greening up the area applied, nice thick lawn now. We live on a corner, and the provided amount was only enough to do the main front lawn, but I will be buying more for the rest once I get rid of the weeds in that area

Did not have good results

Not sure what I did wrong. My grass was green before I used this, now after seeding my lawn and 3 weeks afterwards. All that was green is now yellow dead grass. It seemed the more I watered the lawn the more it would dry out, it was like I was watering it with bleach. Deep greening in 3 days, yeah right....deep yellowing in 3 days for me and it did not waste a day in doing it. Threw the rest of what I had in the dumpster, always share and give my neighbors what I don't use or need before throwing anything away in waste...I just couldn't with this!!

We are sorry to hear of the issues you encountered with Scotts Green Max Lawn Food. A continued or general yellow look may indicate a lack of iron. We suggest trying an iron supplement or followup in 6 to 8 weeks with a fertilizer containing iron. We offer a guarantee that extends to all of our products. Great results

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had some dead patches going on in my yard because I had some moles attacking roots of some ornamental trees. After resolving that problem I had patches in my grass that needed to be re-grown. I use this lawn food to not only strengthen and brighten the rest of my lawn but also to help my ceilings grow in the patches. I have never had such a great lush and green lawn before. I highly recommend this to anyone who needs to thicken their grass, have a long lush beautiful green grass. My grass is no longer the brownest grass on the block. It's not sure what they say, that the grass is always greener on the other side. Because my grass is the greenest on the block

Does not work as promised

I applied this product 13 days ago according to the instructions. We had an inch and a half of rain since but not all at once so it has definitely been watered in. I see no difference in the greening of the lawn. I used Scotts Halts for crabgrass control a few months ago and had better results with that.

We are sorry that you did not receive the fertilizer response that you expected from Scotts Green Max Lawn Food. To get the most out of any fertilizer, we recommend that you maintain your lawn with adequate water and regular feedings. When mowing, remove no more than 1/3 of the grass blade at a time. If repeated applications of fertilizer fail to green the lawn, we recommend that you purchase a soil test kit to check the soil pH. A pH imbalance will prevent the lawn from absorbing fertilizer, even if you apply heavily. Also, keep in mind the physical condition of the soil in your yard. Compacted soil, or soil that is very sandy or is mostly clay will not provide an ideal growing condition for turf. Consider core aeration in combination with topdressing. Aeration is the process of poking small holes into the soil using rental power equipment. Topdressing involves applying a thin layer (no more than 1/4 inch thick) of compost or topsoil to the entire surface of the lawn. Scotts Lawn Soil applied in this fashion may greatly improve the turf's response to fertilizer. We want you to be confident in our products. For this reason, we offer a product guarantee to our consumers. At your earliest convenience please contact us to see what can be done.
