If you like New York strips, this is exactly for you. The cost of precut and packaged New York strips is a waste of money. Everyone has a knife and a cutting board to cut steaks as thin or thick as you like. Vacuum seal and enjoy when you like.

Got 14 huge steaks out of it. Wonderful flavor. Leftover pieces and trimmings go into a beef stroganoff.

The steaks are flavorful, the marbling is ok. However I bought a, 13lb piece at $10 a lb (approx) after trimming I had 2.2lbs of fat, which means I paid over $20 for fat or add $2 per lb to the steaks. Overall, not bad but not great. I probably won't buy this again unless they start trimming the meat before packing %26 pricing.

Meat came with bones still attached. I would NOT have chosen this piece of beef at the store due to excessive fat. You should consider better trimming. A fifteen pound piece of meat should not have five pounds of fat at 9.00 a pound.

I bought one at 16 pounds and ended up with 3.7 pounds of fat. Honestly it was fun to cut up my own steaks and what not but not worth the time. I understand Walmart corp buys it by the pound and pushes that measure on to use but darn. We are the end customer and we end up eating all the loss of the buy, resale story. Really stings to know you should expect at least 25% will be fat. Math doesn't add up. I ended up only saving about $14-20 bucks at best for buying this.

It was ok not as great flavor as others stated. For NY strip it decent price, i got 14 1.5 inch steaks after trimming etc.

Had an abscess in the meat. Very low quality in general. Sam's used to be the best.

Mostly fat, inedible large section throughout the length of the whole. Will NEVER purchase this here again. was not worth what I paid at all. Worst quality. I will go back to Pellicano's.

I picked this up curbside and neglected to inspect before traveling home. 25% (3 pounds) of the weight was a very large fat cap. By far, the worst I've ever seen. It also has a lot of fat throughout. This was so bad, it seems to be an intentional "thumb on the scales". In retrospect, I should have returned it but had already opened and began trimming.

The meat had over 4 pounds of fat. There is no savings purchasing the slab in my opinion. Better to purchase the pre-cut steak. The flavor of steak was good.
