A Backyard Welder's Review of the Ultimate Generator First off, a big thank you for not hounding me for a review like most companies do. Appreciate having the time to break it in per the instructions and give it a proper test. I only write reviews on good products and this generator meets this requirement. Oil Change & Maintenance: Changing the oil was a breeze. The filter is in a nice, reachable spot. While the included funnel was a nice touch, I prefer using my bigger, taller funnel for an easier pour above the machine – luckily, I already had one. Performance & Usage: Bought this beast mainly to keep my home appliances running during power outages – had both freezes and hurricanes to deal with, so I needed something reliable. This model didn’t just meet expectations; it surpassed them. I only run essential equipment as needed, leaving me with some spare power and longer run times. That bigger tank means I can get a whole night’s rest without worry. It sounds good, not too loud for my 3 acres, but I bet it’d seem louder in a tightly packed neighborhood. Leaned a sheet of plywood against the frame to deflect the sound, but the CO2 sensor kicked in and shut it down – good to know it’s working. Moved the board 6 feet away as instructed, and it worked fine. The wheels roll easily and in a balanced position with the fold down handle. But my property is a long gravel drive with field grass. That's where the lift hook came in handy for my tractor to carry it to locations. The lift hook is in a well balanced position also. Real Test - Welding: After the break-in period and oil change, a few runs on the AC, heater, and fridge units, I put this machine to the real test. Got myself a NEMA 14-50 to NEMA 6-50 adapter, hooked up my 50-amp weld machine, and started welding. The performance was solid. It jumped to five bars on the load meter, then settled to two bars during steady welding on 1/8-inch rods. Now, I’ve got a reason to run my generator every weekend instead of just waiting for the next power outage. All in all, it’s a well-built machine that’s perfect for handling everything from home emergencies to weekend welding projects. Highly recommend! I recently purchased the Champion Power Equipment 15,000 Watt Tri-Fuel Generator, and I couldn't be happier with my decision! This generator has truly exceeded my expectations in every way. First off, the versatility of being able to run on propane, natural gas, or gasoline is a game-changer. I love having the flexibility to choose my fuel source based on availability and convenience. It starts up easily every time, and I've had no issues switching between fuel types. The power output is fantastic! With 15,000 watts, it handles everything I need, from running 5 ton AC unit with 2 fridges, a wine fridge and all my household needs. The generator is surprisingly quiet for the level of output! The setup process was straightforward, and the user-friendly controls make it easy to operate. The included wheels and handle make it convenient to move around, even though it's a powerful machine. I can't recommend this unit enough. It meets the needs of my power requirements and more. The cost vs a Generac, it's a no brainer to purchase this generator!

After going through several days without electricity, due to hurricane Beryl. I was determined not to go through that again. I spent several days researching all my options and decided this unit supplied the most bang for the buck. After receiving my generator I knew right away that this unit was worth the wait. The design and quality was impressive. The out let covers are superior and this model had an actual oil filter as opposed to others that just had a strainer screen. the engine design is also is made to do the job.

I purchased this product as a back up to my electric system, The area which I live was hit hard during Hurricane Sandy and I want to be ready as a recent home buyer. I got it home and fired it up with propane it ran gread and powered the entire house. I then had my plumber come in to give me a gas line for the unit. it again ran fine and carried the entire house including my gas burner and gas hot water heater. This is a well made product that can easily be moved and stored. I am very happy with the purchase!

Generator worked great but i had to charge the battery at least 4 times when starting it up. It worked great during break in period but did not start when I needed it. We just went through a hurricane in the Houston area and we were very dissapointed when generator did not start. It ran fine after the first four jumps.

Got this Generator to use as a whole Home backup unit for hurricanes, Got natural gas available on my neighborhood, and doing a test I'm very surprised that i can run my entire house (1650sqf) with this model there's plenty of power everything work at my house at 30% capacity, I did install a soft start on my central A/C to help run a generator (recommended) Overall great unit, plenty of power for my needs, easy start & features, price and warranty and support from champion Thank you

So far so good for the new generator. I'm just getting ready to change the oil and filter after its initial break in. My only complaint so far is that the wheels may not be up to the task in the long run. When installed the wheels are slightly canted out which would seem to me that in the long run they wont hold up, especially if you need to move the generator on a rough surface. I'll write more once I've run the generator for a bit.

After completing the 5-hour break in period for my Tri-Fuel generator (model #201161), I replaced the oil (full synthetic) and oil filter (Champion filter) prior to using it during power outage caused by hurricane Helene. The unit flawlessly powered our entire home for at least 50 hours until our power grid was restored, rarely operating beyond one-third load management. An oil check about eight hours into the run period did not reveal any oil consumption by the generator--nor did I notice any discoloration. At least two additional oil checkes were performed well into the run period, adding very little oil each time to maintain a level as close to full as possible without overfill. Installing a Micro-Air EasyStart on my outdoor A.C. unit (2 ton) made it possible for my Tri-Fuel to easily run the entire air conditioning system without problem. The 50 AMP Double Pole Breaker and 50 AMP Inlet Box installations added convenience and ease to using Champion's 50 AMP generator power cord to supply electricity to our entire home. Connecting directly to our home's natural gas supply with quick disconnect couplers, one to the generator that is attached to the natural gas hose supplied with the power unit and other attached to the natural gas line that connects to the hose, allowed for a continuous supply of fuel without any connection hassle. The GenTent shield protected the unit's electrical panel from rain--keeping it dry at all times. Champion, based on my recent experience thank you for designing a reliable and power Tri-Fuel portable generator for residential use.

We bought this generator two weeks before the July 2024 hurricane hit Houston, TX. This generator has been powering my two ACs, all of the lights, pool cleaner, washer/drier, dishwashers, and all items you would expect in a 4,700 sq foot home. Currently has ran for four days.... AMAZING!

I ordered this generator to replace my current and very old one. I did a lot of research and decided to go with this tri-fuel Champion model 201161. It arrived very securely packaged yet was very easy to uncrate and have it operational. It took about 15 minutes total to set it up and have it running. It started on the very first try. It also came with all the connectors/supply hoses needed for LPG or NG. I was pleasantly surprised with how quite it was compared to my old generator. This is not the first major purchase I have made on Champion products and so far they have not disappointed on any of these purchases. I highly recommend this generator.
