I bought this for my husband who suffered a stroke. This provides him with an easy and close shave.

This razor give a great shave and is easy to clean. Very smooth too.

Nice razor shaves well

Purchased a model s5290 about 7 months ago. The razor is comfortable to use but does not give me a close shave. I have switched back to my Norelco model 7315xl which is several years old but gives me a better shave. I am disappointed with the model s5290.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was surprised how much I like this shaver- I'm picky and set in my ways. I've been using a 20 year old garage sale Norelco and it worked for me, but it was damaged, so I had to get a replacement. This shaver gives a quick, close shave and isn't bothered by 3 days beard. My old shaver had an integral mustache trimmer and I don't like having to pull the shaving head off & then snap the trimmer on, but once it's in place, the trimmer works well. The case is a bit annoying- the only time you need a case is when you're traveling and then you usually need to bring the charger and trimmer with you, BUT the case doesn't have room for them! How dumb is that?

I've been using the shaver for 2 months. I have a coarse beard and use a gel so that to get a closer shave. I clean under the tap after every use, wipe it off and let it air dry. Occasionally the cutting heads jam/freeze when I go to use it again. I can feel the Li-ion battery try and turn the heads but there is no whirring/cutting action. I flip open the cover and use an undersized Torx driver to turn each of the 3 cutting heads and then the shaver works perfectly. I suspect others might have this problem with their Norelco's and if the good folks at Norelco would provide a small plastic cleaning brush with a male drive to match the shaver's 3 drive heads, this could be part of weekly maintenance

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Have been using Philips Norelco Shavers for 15yrs. My last shaver was 8 yrs old and the power button was getting cranky. This one is much quieter and also I like the fact that the blades are elevated rather than being enclosed. Also like the fact that you flip the whole shaver head and clean it easily while shaving in shower.
