Price is right

I bought 1 and put the whole package of oil in and I believe that caused it not to start. I took it back and exchanged it for another identical one, this time I didn't use the whole amount of oil provided. The 2nd one works like a champ, first pull start for now. Have not had an opportunity to run for extended times so will have to update this review at a later time. I work construction and have been around many Generac products without any issues and was a driving force in my purchase.

Nice, compact and quiet unit

This generator is a nicely packaged, self-contained unit. The outside coating is weather resistant, with no protruding part or gauges. Included with the instructions is a quick start guide that had me get this up and running in less than five minutes. I had no trouble lifting this because of the compactness of the unit and sturdy handle. Oil is included, as well as a spout that screws into the oil plug for easy filling. The gauges on the side are LED's and show your fuel level, how much time you have left before it runs out, wattage use and status of the generator. There is also a three mode switch for turbo, standard and economy usage. I fired it up and it functioned flawlessly. In addition to this generator being easy to use, it is also super quiet. This is important to me because I live in an upstairs condominium with units and other buildings that are pretty close together. I don't want to disturb the neighbors, and this unit will definitely make that happen. Lastly, the price is right! If you are looking for portability, quiet and piece of mind at a very reasonable price, I highly recommend this generator.

Worst Inverter generator ever

A total waste of money. Started generator every 3 months for first year. Let it run. All good. Needed to use it and would not work at all. Could not generate any power. Took it for service (of course out of warranty)come to find out the electronic board that processes that power was shot. received an estimate of $400 to repair my $700 generator that was like new. Generac rep said they had issues, but unfortunately my unit was out of warranty, To Bad. Wont be ever be buying a Generac Inverter Generator. When I get the money, I will be looking at Honda. Total waste of $700+, plus not having a unit when my power went out.

Excellent and can be better.

I am a event rental company owner. We rent generators for many different applications. Purchased us to run our restroom trailers which have RV generators. What we really liked about it is that one person could move it. It is very quiet. We would love to see this with an EFI option.

Cranks and runs Quite

Arrived on time, set up easy and breaking when smooth. I which there was an oil attachment for discharge when changing the oil...As others have stated I agree this price should include a wheel system why pay to another for their adapted kit.?? ME i placed my on a furniture move cart and it work just fine...

Part of My Readiness Plan

As a resident of earthquake country, and a member of our local Community Emergency Response Team (CERT), I needed to complete my preparedness kit by adding a home generator. Unlike other users who have reviewed this model, I am not a camper, I don't regularly need portable power for tools, nor do we have an unreliable power grid. However, I don know what will happen when we have a large earthquake and that power will be unavailable for days, perhaps even weeks, following such an event. As a CERT member, we practice for such situations all the time and I have seen plenty of portable generators in use during these exercises. I'm impressed by the cost/benefit ratio of Generac and trust that the IQ series will be just what I need for my home. I regularly run it as part of its maintenance schedule, place an electrical load on it, and am very satisfied with its performance. As I live in a townhome complex, my neighbors appreciate that it runs quietly.

Super quiet

Just bought and made a testing. Pros: Easy setup. Easy to start. Super quiet! If you turn the corner of the house you almost do not hear does it is running or not! Verify with different loads (from light up to 2 kW) Not really a Con: Wheels absences! Generac, please add an option to buy a wheels kit for your very good iQ3500! Why a customers should play a game with Honda Wheel kit, Caster's wheel kits and so on? I feel ready for power outage and highly recommend this little generator for exactly the purpose we used it for, which was to keep essential appliances running through an extended power outage.

Great Generator

Bought this generator to power my RV for off grid camping. Have only been out with it once so far but are very impressed with it. Starts like a dream and easily powers my AC and other things. Runs very quiet on economy mode. My only suggestion is that it needs wheels since it’s quite heavy to lift.

GENERAC IO3500

I purchased this generator a few days ago to use with my travel trailer and it did not disappoint. The A/C unit in my trailer is louder than the generator. I can not hear the generator when the A/C is running. It powers everything in my trailer. Great product.

Dual fuel awesome

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve been using the Generac iQ3800 Dual Fuel Portable Generator for a while now, and I’m really impressed with how easy it is to operate. The push-button start works flawlessly, and the design makes it super portable with the built-in handle and wheels. It’s definitely built to last—feels very durable and reliable. I also appreciate the Economy Mode to help save fuel, and the LED display makes it simple to monitor everything. Great generator for both work and outdoor use!
