I just installed my 6th set of Altimax RT43's on my vehicles.  This last set replaced the previous RT43's with 52,000 miles.  This is the best all-around brand/make of tire I have ever come across.  I have told a number of friends and relatives about my experience, and they too have the same opinion.  A similar quality tire would be nearly twice the cost!

I made this purchase after comparing the tires to other makes and found that they scored favorably when compared to Michelins.  Purchased three sets of these tires for different vehicles in my family.  Immediately noticed that the tires had a quiet ride.  It has been 9 months since purchase and they have performed favorably on all three vehicles.  This has included winter driving through snow and on ice.  The only thing at this point is to see if they wear for as long of a period as they are warranted to last.  I will be purchasing another set in the near future for another vehicle.

I bought these tires after looking at many reviews.  I wanted good tires for the winter without going into winter tires.  These went on my Nissan cube.  I don't regret it.  I've used them now through a winter season and they are great in any snow.  They have a good grip and I feel safe with them.  They are a 70000 mile tire but the store told me that I would probably get only 50000 due to the softness of the rubber.

I had Altimaxes on my last car, a 98 Corolla, that were wonderful and lasted forever. That's why I have them on my beautiful 1999 Camry. They are even longer lasting than they were on my Corolla.  The only negative I have, which is my reason for removing one star, has to do with the Tire Wear Monitor built into the tread. The problem is I don't want or need anything that tells me or possibly an overzealous inspector when my tires need changing out. I make that call... period!   Worn tires need to be replaced at the correct time, when things like funds are available, not at Xmas time, the tires with fresh date codes must be in stock, it's prior to Winter, when I have the time, etc. It's not like these well made tires will explode or lose all traction the day after a wear indicator shows through the tread. But if at inspection, an insector fails my car because the unnecessary tire indicator says ""REPLACE TIRE"", I'll be upset. Again. It's my call and my responsibility, so General... listen up.... instead of a useless tire wear monitor, just give the rubber back to the tire you removed to create the stupid monitor which will give it a bit more life.

Absolutely perfect tires if smoothness and quiet are important to you.  Size 225 50R 18.  Astonishing upgrade from Goodyear Eagles they replaced.  Completely smooth and quiet and improved what was already an excellent ride which I didn't think was possible.

At 15k miles on a RWD Charger, these tires continue to please.  Handling is exceptional, noise is low, and value is high.  Im not sure Im as impressed with Wet traction as many professional reviews.  Its relatively easy to break the rear end loose on wet roads.  Other than the OEM continentals, this is my fave pair of tires - thats saying something with 300k plus on the odometer.

I have put 12,000 miles on these tires so far. They replaced Firestone ft140s on my 2016 civic. So far I am very pleased. They seem just as quiet comfortable, but have far superior traction in rain and wet roads.My gas mileage has remained pretty much the same.The Firestone's  seemed a touch more responsive in quick avoidance maneuvers though.

I have 10k miles on my Generals and am very happy. I was disappointed that I didn't get to try them in any snow to see how they did. But ride quality,wet performance, noise are all above average. Are there better tires? Yes, but not many. And all of those are twice the price. Will I buy again? Yes. Even if I only were to get 30k miles out of them. But they have hardly worn any at all so far. Buy them. You will like them.

Bought 6 months ago - drove both in town and at 75 mph for extended periods on major highways. Now have 5000 miles on them. Replaced original Goodyear Eagles on 2009 Maxima. Felt secure and solid at all times. They are quiet and stable but too early to judge longevity. They still look brand new. Have not used in snow conditions but the tread design seems good. So far so good. Would definitely purchase again and recommend to others.

I bought these tires for my 01 Focus in December and they were the best all season tire I've ever used in the snowy WI winter. I bought these in April for my wife's van and we have both been very happy with how they drive in the dry, wet and snow! Between tires that came on cars I've bought and tires I have bought over the years, these are easily my favorite. The ride is smooth, no excessive tire noise or fuel efficiency reduction and traction in the winter is great!
